I instantly remember seeing this game in the Xbox line up because it left an impression on me, especially the art/design.
It's very reminiscent of early animation and cartoons we grew up loving and this generation still are getting introduced to.
Stroke of genius. I can't wait to see and hear more about it.
Love this kind of game, plus it looks incredibly fun, I'd be honored to receive a key for it, if not, I'll probably pick it up on the ps4/vita.
I will sink in hours and hours of gameplay onto this one, I can already tell, it reminds of this schmup on ps3 and vita with the music and the art/design choices. Not a bad thing in my book (why cant I think of the name for it??)
it looks incredibly fun and I like you guys' philosophy about gaming, probably why such a great product came out.
It reminds me a lot of that tank game that was a metroid vania on the NES, you could come out of the tank and shoot too.
Sorry you had to go through bankruptcy, you guys have seen some dark days but it looks like you're coming out on top, hopefully this becomes lucrative financially.
one of the best schmups to date has ar-rive*d
it's a smart shoot'em up, you can hack, you slow down time (seen before) and it looks like there are other tactical things you can do.
Hitting a lot of platforms, congrats. A high polish factor is always great in a game (should be required), and they're right Nintendo provide that on their 1st party games.
I wish you well in your endeavors, you've come up with a brilliant game and a gimmick that will rack in interest from all sorts of media.
I'd love to have a crystal ball just to see what the future holds for you, it's bright thus far.
you've probably created the most hype around your game by the sole fact that it's permadeath and you can only play it once, haha.
Personally, that'd give me anxieties, lol, I like to be able to make mistakes and redo an area, without a steep learning curve.
But the one shot deal could make gamers really interested in this, so I see the appeal.
Plus the gameplay looks fun.
wow, I'd love to play this game but I'd need a go offline and campaign mode, rather than being put out there in the folds fighting. But I can see how this "hunger game" type situation with spectators and the ability to have them spawn enemies can appeal to certain gamers.
A lot of people online want to show off their skills and that's probably the game for them. I honestly don't know how commercially successful this will be cause I want to buy a copy...and I ...
Shining force ended with the 3 scenarios on the Saturn, anything beyond that point wasn't Shining force, but titles using the Shining title to appeal to gamers.
Sega you need to make nice with Camelot and apologize heavily, even though they now work with (probably belong to) Nintendo.
Permadeath and it allows you to add handicaps, someone's gotta be a sucker for punishment...lol and maybe that sucker is me.
Hopefully there are different levels of difficulty, as I grow older I get less and less patient with games.
I'd play it on the go :)
That was a great read, especially knowing about where they drew their inspiration from, aside from the obvious homage.
Difficult huh? kinda like megaman til you find your way or fling the controller across the room?
I'd love to play the beta and give feedback as well. Nice that they're patching through from gamers' opinions and experiences.
I really wanna play it.
"We make games we want to play" seems to be the statement across the board and it makes total sense, if I became a developer and I saw one of the franchises I loved as a kid become stale or stagnant, I'd try to emulate it.
Are they the first to do what capcom hasn't done yet? co-op megaman?
Love the obvious megaman comparisons and homage, :)
From the weapons and to whom it's attributed, i.e. Zero has a laser sword.
The music is retro goodness. I want this! This is the kind of game I play over and over again, give me it!
of course I remember all those frustrations, hehe, I used to play double dragon on the Sega master system (yep 2 players) with my brother, but back then, that game was pure perfection.
Streets of rage also was a gem...I wasn't until recently when I picked them up that my nostalgia goggle shattered haha.
I love a precise beat them up, dragon's crown and Scott pilgrim, castle crashers, etc...the recent ones are great and precise.
There's a reason why I keep coming back to fighters and beat them ups, they reigned master championns at the local arcades.
My first quarter was in the Xmen game, or it could've been TMNT...needless to say, it is one of my favorite genres.
Arcade like games can have leg if it is well implemented.
Moar! Moar riches...man I love me a beat them ups and it doesn't require much of a story, so i'm okay with cliches.
Anything that gets me to slay and kick some pixelated butts.
I see everybody else making castle crashers comparisons and that's not a bad thing. It was a great game.
Everybody loves Vikings, they kick ass and pillage villages, hide yo womenz, the viking squad arrives ( that was a horrible comment, maybe say, a gift card winning comment??)
Maybe it has that lost vikings feel from the SNES days, let's check it out :)
I didnt see any framerate issue, it's like a tetris schmup, how awesome is that, it can turn 90 degrees.
I'd like to play it on vita, it'd be fun on the go.
dev's got a great sense of humor and it translated well into this quirky schmup about friendship :)
love letter to old schmups...and I can't get over how good the music is. Kudos to the composer.
What's not to love about this game?
Thank you N4g (Christopher and the indie month team) for reintroducing us to game that left a lasting impression last E3 (2014) and I needed to see more of this.
I want to buy it and I want to play it, it has everything going for it. I am in awe with every aspect of this game, here's to hoping that the music is just as magical.
