What caused PC gaming to not be "better" in the first place? Last I checked Valve and Steam were on PC prior to Microsoft now expressing concern for it.
Even the heavy hitters that started out on PC like Epic Games, and Crytek left PC gaming for the Xbox platform...Now that PC is becoming a much more competitive, viable, and lucrative platform, Microsoft feels it's once again time to support it? Not buying it.

No but I do. He is not far from being correct on his suspicions. I mean after all, Microsoft did muscle out Netscape and they now have to compete with Android, Linux, and Apple's OS as of now. How do you think Microsoft got all those billions? http://media.economist.com/...
No...
Well they were all about PC gaming when they released Vista...With the pending Windows 10 release, Mantle getting them off their butt to make DirectX 12, and Valve making Steamboxes to undercut Windows, of course it would be fitting for them to admit losing their "way" close to releasing a new OS...Duh.
I'm not sure either. Maybe it's fanboyism for Valve who can do no wrong but otherwise these machines are not worth the price tag.
These are priced ridiculously. The whole point of the Steam machines was to eliminate the overhead of Windows DX11 and to cut out having to deal with Windows OS entirely.
Now with DX12, Vulcan, and Mantle, one can simple build or buy a cheaper machine and game at decent framerates without the need for this Steambox or Steam OS. Too little too late Valve.
"Must make it clear that dx12 is M$ software, but it was not built by them alone. I must say also that I have a new level of respect for AMD."
Plus one. If AMD hadn't of pushed Mantle, Microsoft would've remained stagnant on the PC gaming front. Funny how quick Mantle has faded to obscurity compared to DX12 which hasn't even released yet.
Reminds me of how Microsoft muscled out Netscape.
I am skeptical of this. They did this same number with the release of Vista which was along with Halo 2.
I would take this with a grain of salt as it may be nothing more than a Trojan Horse of words to gain traction on Windows 10 adoption rates.
My most fond memory was this intense PS2 launch commercial. Wow.

I know this score will get blown out of proportion. We shouldn't automatically assume from a few early review scores what the games playability and value will be worth. That's for us gamers to decide.
Between Mantle, DX12, and the prospect of Open GL Next, PC gaming has been making incredible strides as of late. Hopefully now we won't here the age old "console optimization" rhetoric that has plagued PC's hardware efficiency with fragmented software overhead.
"yes can't wait to get that PC and play some Infamous SS, The order 1886, Bloodborne, all the other PS exlcusives"
Why is it console fanboys like you use the old..."but I can't play console exclusive X, Y, Z on PC"...Not only that you and other PS fanboys name the same exclusives, most of which have released long ago.
If you really believe consoles have more exclusives than PC well then... 3999d ago 8 agree9 disagreeView comment
Exactly...Speaks volumes about the consoles power and how in less than 2 years PS4 and Xbox One can be matched or exceeded for a mere 350~400 USD PC. Also, the "console optimization" myth is now null and void due to Mantle and DX12.
PC gaming will only get better and less expensive relative to what it was last generation. The PS3 and Xbox 360 were behemoths when the launched, this gen of consoles...Not so much.

Despite the third parties...Nintendo knows their own hardware better than anyone and it shows...How is it that games like Smash Bros. run at 1080p 60fps if the Wii U is so called "weak"?
That 32MB EDRam must have a huge bandwidth limit to pull off such feats...Definitely need to save to pick one up.
Wow this game is shaping up to look like something special. I envy Wii-U owners and I need to join the club really soon.
At least Nintendo and Co. are releasing some solid exclusives that aren't bug ridden or missing content. Wow.
"Study uncovers Xbox owners' blind loyalty and brand delusion"
Wow well what about people that prefer Nintendo, Sony, or PC? Are they exempt from the prospect of "blind loyalty" and "brand delusion" because their hardware is not named Microsoft?
Such an ambiguous title and yes I read the article.
*Too bad Wii U has better scoring exclusives so far, now gonna back and play the order*
Fixed.
Wow RadioShack lives! That's one ackward looking D-pad though.
This is true. Relative to the time period, the N64 thru the PS3 generation either matched or exceeded the power of PC's at their time of release.
Which is very much why some games from the past I have replayed were really impressive compared to now...For example, this is Grand Prix Challenge on PS2...60FPS PLUS weather effects... https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Wow straight exposed the troll.
@Two-Face
There's only once console I've seen that has been the butt of every joke, gif, and meme...It starts with an X and ends with a Ox.
OT: I had a feeling that despite the hyperbole of sensationalism surrounded by this games length...It was going to get 7's or 8's out the gate.
Not bad at all for a new IP.
nVidia is taking it to AMD. They need to hurry and release their next gen R9 300 series.
