@newuser, Sony already has most of the non-mobile VR market to themselves. The numbers don't lie. I'd expect the next PSVR to have some sort of basic processing capabilities in the headset that might allow you to continue playing your games away from the console, just at a lower quality. Basically a stand alone kit that is made more powerful when you pair it up with a PS5. Kinda like what the others are trying, but with real games and people actually playing them. There's a reason...

running at 60hz means there will be lots of jitter when converting the 50hz to 60, or screen tearing if they do it within the GPU, at least on games that are meant to run at above 30fps.
Carts are exponentially more expensive than discs, and unnecessary considering many people don't even bother with physical copies (myself included) anymore. For a portable console, it would work, but otherwise it's more cost than benefit.

Real time ray tracing is the holy grail of video game 3D rendering, just be glad it's here in our lifetimes. I would expect to see next gen consoles releasing with GPUs maybe a little bit above where we are right now, ray tracing solid 1080p, but not 4k, 4k native everything else, 4k VR with some tricks and shortcuts (foveated rendering, for instance).
