the more I read about RRoD the more lucky I feel. However, the longer I have my 360 the more scared I am that a RRoD will creep up on me. I used to think that people were just rough with their hardware (moving them around a lot, not giving it enough breathing room, placing it next to the heater, hitting it with their controllers, etc.), but I can't argue with 9 RRoD's.

I for one would love Crysis to come out for the PS3 or 360 simply because I only have a Mac Mini, which can't do anything game related. However, I am thinking about building my own gaming PC so that I can play Sins of a Solar Empire, Crysis, and a host of other exclusive PC games. The only game my Mac Mini can play well is solitaire.

I'm always blown away by reports from people who are on their Nth 360 due to RRoD. I bought mine back in November of '06 (when Gears came out) and it's still going strong. Sure, it makes all kinds of weird noises and the fan sounds like a rocket taking off. I've logged lots of hours playing on it (marathon sessions lasting anywhere from 6 to 10 hours), and the only problems I've experienced is a rare freeze or disc read error. Again, those are rare. How did I luck out?

I'm assuming this will play on the PSP fat. I think it goes up to 333mhz, which is what Chains of Olympus plays at. Has anyone heard different?

I really disliked this game for several reasons. First, much of the gameplay was totally frustrating. Whenever a boss knocks you down, you get stuck in animation and can't get up because the boss keeps knocking you down. Then you die. There was way too much emphasis on mechs. I started to think I was in a Mech Warrior game. The ending was really unsatisfying and the whole plot was rediculous and indecipherable. The cut scenes were so poorly done with horrible voice acting. I can go on...

I'm not real wild about playing the old games on my 360. I've been playing KOTOR, Halo, and Republic Commando, and I just don't enjoy them as much. I think part of the reason is that I used to play them on a standard def 22" TV on the original Xbox. Now I'm playing them on my big 40" 1080p LCD and they look pretty bad. Plus, they seem a little more glitchy. I'm also feeling the same way about my old PS2 games. They just don't look as good (except for God of War, which has a hi...

if women are just jealous that they don't have fun hobbies to get into. Hey, if you want to read novels for fun, go for it. If you want to sew quilts or do knitting, go for it. Please don't criticize me for finding something fun to do with my free time. Video games function much like sports do for men. They are a way to release anger and tension without becoming violent toward others (except if you play hockey, of course).

I think most people are still well-suited to the current array of cpu's, which are at a much more affordable price. The modest gains from the 45nm chips may not yet justify the cost.

but I think you can get some of those components cheaper on Amazon, like the geForce 8800GTS.

has really come on strong. I wonder how AMD will compete with the quad cores that are out now?

I think 7.5 is a pretty fair review for this rather bland looking game.

After seeing the review I'm having second and third thoughts about buying this. I was actually not planning to get it as the demo was pretty disappointing. The graphics seemed a little bland and getting knocked down by dinos at every turn was really frustrating. However, the multiplayer might be worth a go. Although the weapons are pretty basic, they do seem to satisfy. I still haven't made up my mind.
After I bought Blacksite: Area 51 (and got burned) I'm a little gunshy (forgi...

This demo is old (at least in the states). Plus, it wasn't that great anyway.

I just don't understand why you'd want to answer messages from friends while you are playing a game. Please explain how/why you would want to do that? I would think it would interrupt the flow/feel of the game.

why would you want to respond to messages while you are playing a game? That makes no sense to me. Your friends can wait until you are done playing.

If I'm deep into a game, I don't want to chat with friends. Maybe I just don't understand the whole XMB concept. Why would you want to chat with friends or look at your friends list while you are playing a game? I guess the whole music thing is fine, but wouldn't messaging people and looking at friends lists interrupt the feel of the game? What am I missing here?
