Microtransactions are wallet rape, so its on the level.
It is really up to developers to utilize it and make it appealing for us. I just hope that it doesn't get the same stigma as the 6 axis did. Barely any dev made use of the 6 axis function in the ps3 controller, probably due to how we responded to early games like Lair.

Isn't it undeniably dull to download security patches and the like. We're consumers, all we care about is the 'bells and whistles'. I'm not trying to say that security isn't important, just nothing to get excited about.
I also miss the excitement of the old store updates. I used to check the store for free goodies. Sadly they have all the free stuff locked down into ps+ now.
Just seems like this console generation has dragged along long enough to see me become totally jaded with new releases. I'm ready for the ps4!
I enjoyed playing it, I thought it tied up the conclusion rather nicely. Fortunately people bagging on this game hasn't reduced the amount of fun I've had with it.

Then there really is no excuse for ps2 and ps1 games. Those should be able to be emulated fully with just software. I really hope they allow those at least.
I've always hated the people that wait in line at launch to buy a new console just to sell it on ebay or where ever for a profit. It basically creates a bubble of artificial demand that drives prices up and makes it hard for legitimate purchasers to buy the new console.
I guess I may as well complain about capitalism in general though, since this isn't going away anytime soon.
I certainly wouldn't begrudge a September launch, be nice not to have to deal with the Xmas rush while trying to get my console and accessories.

The thing that annoys me the most is how the stats progress in the second. It seems like rare weapons are good for maybe 3-5 levels before a simple white weapon is better. I remember a yellow weapon from the first game last me through nearly 10 levels.

I always hated the red/blue knights that look like cats. Try to hit them and they change direction and poke me. Being on a screen with like 6 of them was always a pain. Would bust out bombs to thin them out and have to pick off the last 2-3 being very careful to not get hit.

While I understand where your concerns are coming from, and that they are totally warranted given the climate of the gaming industry at large. I really would advise you take this game play with a grain of salt, the build they demonstrated was probably pre alpha and very likely to change a lot between now and release.
Chances are if you enjoyed the few games you should give the developers the benefit of the doubt until more gameplay is revealed.
It will be nice to have the developers struggle to realize the full power of the system due to excess ram and processing power rather than negotiating complex architectures.
I really look forward to seeing what this next generation has to offer. I honestly hope we get something to supplant FPS as the dominant game archetype.
