Right there, 1080p and 60fps is best or even 120fps for those with 120hz screens.
Ultra hd or whatever, with 2-3 monitors produce bad framerates on even dual or even triple card setups, a lot of games struggle to get 30-40fps near 4k resolution i've seen benchmarks. For the cost the performance is awful, i'd much rather have 1080p with almost guaranteed 60fps or over with just a single high end card, at least until they fix micro stuttering on dual cards.
Titan is a waste, here's my reasons.
It's massively overpriced, 2 AMD 7870's are cheaper and stomp it. Too bad micro stuttering still exists though.
Any game that runs poorly on say a GTX 680 is also going to run poor on the Titan, there needs to be a huge gap for it to be worth the cost and the gap is so small it's simply not worth the cost.
I'll be waiting for the proper next cards like AMD 8870 or GTX 780, not these ove...
Can you send a Vita to them to mod it for you?
For me it's not all about better graphics by having a good gaming PC, i prefer them for the better performance and smoother gameplay.
@Honest_Gamer a £500 PC won't max games for 5 years, my 5870 from launch can't max some newer games without going below 60fps at 1080p, and i got that in late 2009 for £300. But i haven't upgraded it because it plays everything i play at fast speeds.
To keep up you need a top card every 2-3 years. Tha...
Half Life 2 was amazing back in 2004, still a great game today.
I'm not sure how long we have to wait for Half Life 3.. but Valve have already been working on Source 2 for 2 and a half years, i wonder how long they plan to work on the new engine before they start work on the game it's self.
6 year gap between the release of HL and HL2.. does that mean HL3 won't be seen until 2015-2016?, if so we have a while to wait still. But you can bet it'l...
And a new Conker game.
Why two 7990's? they were probably running it on 3 monitors.. and even then it's not guaranteed to get 60fps.
1080P is best for a single high end card, higher will produce bad FPS. Plus going to multi card setups is a waste of money because of the micro stuttering introduced by doing so. Because no company has fixed the damn issue which has been around since dual card connectivity existed.
So 1080P, a top end card & (hopefully) 60FPS or more if yo...
Off the mark by quite a lot there.. i got my 5870 for £300 in 2009 at launch and it's still worth around £100 on Ebay. That's over 3 years later.
So while cards do drop in price, it's not nearly as much or as fast as you make out. Of course it depends on the card in question as well.
I know what you mean sort of, too many games have a dull grey drab look to them. Barely any colour. I mean look at the original Doom's compared to Doom 3, everything got painted down to dullness.
Thankfully not all games are like that.
Well i already own a Wii U and 3DS, so if they move back to Nintendo it'd be all gravy.. they could really do with having them back.
Plus Rare wouldn't be forced to work on something, like they are with Kinect now at MS -.-
AMD have good cards for the money, their Xfire and dual card solutions leave a lot to be desired.
Microstuttering is a big problem, i don't know why AMD won't fix it because it would put sales of cards through the roof and put them in a better position than Nvidia for price & speed.
The obvious answer is greed, apparently you can have 3 cards run together and it minimizes microsutter issues.. so maybe they are thinking why should be fix it when we...
I personally like AMD GPU's, it's too bad they still have issues with Crossfire because 7870's in Xfire completely obliterate that overpriced card Titan and are quite a bit cheaper to buy both cards to boot.
Hurry up and work on fixes for microstuttering already.. some of us actually WANT to own 2 GPU's even at 1080P to ensure over 60FPS constant, or better yet 120FPS more like it.
Saying Half Life 3 is going to suck is like saying Nintendo is going to make a bad Mario or Luigi game. (the new Luigi's mansion on 3DS by the way is brilliant!) So never going to happen.
I personally can't wait for Source engine 2 and all the other great games like Left 4 Dead 3 or whatever, to play online. I think there will be a huge difference in the Physics engine, or hoping at least.
Valve make awesome games, and they definitely aren't overr...
Well no problem for me, i'll just buy the next gen card whenever the best one comes like GTX 780 and be on top for performance again.
Why would we play WoW when there's tons of PC exclusives consoles don't have?. PC is the home of FPS games, and that's where they stay.
Killing Floor ftw.
The thing is people don't think about other costs with consoles, often times DLC you pay for on consoles comes free on PC. You don't pay for online services monthly, games are usually always £10 cheaper than the console version.
Then comes the performance bit, get a good base system to begin with, like if you still have an i7 from 2008 there is little difference between them and the new ones for game performance if you want 1080p and 60+fps you'd pair either ...
They could enhance unreal engine 3 a ton for Wii U instead, but considering they would need to practically remake any next gen game on UE4 to do it, i doubt they'd bother.
Are you serious? you do know Arnold Schwarzenegger IS a terminator in T3: Rise of the machines, right?. The fact is he was helping instead of destroying this time.. almost exactly like in T2. The woman was just another Terminator, on a different mission.
Plus Terminator 3 was a good film, it had some nice action scenes.. i don't see why some people seem to hate it, sure T2 is better but T3 is very good.. certainly better than the one with CGI arnie.
This is a big reason i prefer PC games, only need to upgrade the GPU for nice framerates if you already have a good processor made within the last 4 years or so.
1080p 60+fps all the way as long as you have a high end card.
Plus kb & mouse are much better for many games.
Like i've already said, if they wanted to they could enhance UE3 a lot.
Look at Soldier of Fortune 2 back in 2002, it was built on a highly enhanced Quake 3 engine and it looks a fair bit better than Quake 3 does. Goes to show you can do a lot with an engine if you work on it more.
