I'm happy this is releasing on both consoles. I played the holy hell out of Demon's Souls, and thankfully, so did many others.

You can thank us later in the year, 360 bros :D

People should be reading this,

like right now.

Awesome insight, Garvin even replies to most of the comments.

I had a soft spot for the first Lost Planet, so I looked forward to the second game improving that concept. Boy was I wrong.

The game could have been amazing, but they got the fundamentals so very wrong. The train boss battle is one of the worst in recent memory. A great idea shattered by disgraceful game design. I don't think I ever finished the game, I tried to slog through it but it was just too frustrating.

If Capcom ever make a third, please test...

This is absolutely sensational. Crash Bandicoot was the first game I bought for my Playstation. I think a quote from Sir Francis Drake sums up this article perfectly.

"Greatness from small beginnings".

Kudos Naughty Dog.

I'd still say there is plenty of crap, but this is an interesting article.

It's hard to say whether they were stupid not to do it, or if they avoided a monumental misfire, time will tell I guess. The concept is interesting in a number of ways.

Dead Space 2 is a great action game, but it lacks the tension that made the first feel so fresh. I think the game itself is excellent, but it just isn't scary at all. Also, how many daycare centres and toy shops do I need to walk through? I get the point.

*SPOILERS*

The baby exploding scene was so outrageous it was actually funny. An example of Visceral Games trying to push the envelope when it really turns out to be a parody.

I experienced some framrate drops playing in the botzone, so I don't think you're alone. It is probably under very specific circumstances, but for a BETA it's remarkably solid.

I don't have a problem with a score like this, but I think the multiplayer is integral to the game and they barely touch on it.

This is a solid Beta to say the least. The only issue i've really had thus far is framerate dropping every now and then. Everything about it has been tightened considerably, even extremely minor details like cancelling firing and sprint animations to do a melee attack, one of my absolutely banes in the Call of Duty franchise. Kudos Guerrilla.

Imagine how different Infinity Ward would have been had they anticipated that kind of problem. The game was literally and figuratively hacked to pieces. It prevented the release of future patches because the issue extended far beyond the "javelin glitch".

If there is one thing I can say Treyarch has definitely nailed, it's the prevention of egotistical tards ruining a game for the major community. They have some way to go in making Black Ops the best it can be...

There are so many reactionary articles like this. It was probably posted after he had a few terrible games. The demo isn't bad at all, it ain't groundbreaking material but it's far from completely broken. Oh well, I'll be curious to see the final product, the blueprint is there, Crytek just need to deliver.

Anyway, I've pretty much exhausted the demo at this point, played the hell out of the Black Ops map pack last night, bring on the Killzone 3 beta! :)...

I think they intend to do a map only playlist in a couple of days.

The map pack itself I haven't had any issue with. I partied up with a friend that DIDN'T have the map pack and the loading times on theatre mode, combat records etc. increased exponentially. I'm sure it has something to do with the server explosion, but I'm hoping it settles by tomorrow.

Anyway, to those that got the maps, what do you think? Kowloon and Stadium are excellent editions, especially to objective modes, Berlin Wall and Discovery I really need mor...

Blind fanboys like deadreckoning with one console.

I bought my ps3 in 08, it's my console of choice, I buy just about every game for it over my 360. With FPS's however, it's a different story. I have cross-game voice chat and party systems on the 360. Something I didn't think would be that great, but turned out to be hugely beneficial in the long run.

deadreckoning, when you turn 18, come back with an adequate opinion, although I'm not...

Because unlike yourself, we're not sheep. Greg Miller is a journalist, and with the job there is an expectation that the reviews and articles released are of high quality. Instead, we've been fed some sort of high school paper. Greg Miller isn't the only culprit either.

So thanks for your insightful contribution Brian, you can leave at any time.

One of the best articles I've read in some time. For those that think "no one would have noticed if reddit hadn't pointed it out", that is complete rubbish. Greg Miller has been a vague and childish game critic for a long time. It's just one of a multitude of reasons why IGN can't be considered a serious gaming website. Remember when they fired Chris Roper? The dignified, unbiased, concise critic? In all seriousness, who holds weight there anymore? Do any of their cr...

Destructoid is a game review site for people over the age of 18. If you can't handle Jim Sterling's scores, feel free to read Greg Miller's IGN review.

I think it's about time someone highlighted Greg Miller's poorly written reviews.
