Haha, love that he referenced N4G.
Portal 2 would have to be my most anticipated this year. I'm always flabbergasted at the sheer polish of Valve's work. To have GabeN stand up and say it's their best yet is bold, but also completely believable.
@zombie, A fair assessment. If I had a preference, I wouldn't want it to be made into a film, period. It's evident that David O. Russell is making changes to the concept, you can take that either way with game adaptations, but I have full confidence in whatever Russell produces. I think in making Uncharted into a film, changes were neccessary to seperate it from the game franchise. Where this differs from Silent Hill or the Resident Evil films, is the fact that a true visionary is beh...
I honestly cannot wait, CANNOT WAIT, until this community sees how good the film turns out. Russell is one of the best directors in this current generation of filmmakers. There was NO BETTER CHOICE for this film.
My hope is that after the game is released, it doesn't suffer from '300' syndrome. When all you can say is "hey, at least the trailer was good".
I've always appreciated Digital Foundry's depth with game analysis. This is almost as good as GT5's.
So by your logic you'll pass on a multiplatform game because it doesn't look as good as an exclusive? Gameplay not considered?
Crysis 2's BETA DEBUG CODE on PC unequivocally destroys anything that has come before it. You are a fanboy for passing it up, because the game doesn't just look better this time around, it plays better. Get over your insatiable lust for your console and try new things.
I'm not even going to dignify these three pages of garbage with a proper answer. It just further proves that 99% of the members here are batshit retarded. rofl.
If you hadn't already noticed, a whole number of multiplatform games are showcased on the 360, simply because the development times are shorter. Rage, Crysis 2, Black Ops etc. More people play FPS's on the 360, therefore it's the console of choice to promote.
I own Black Ops on both consoles, but I wouldn't say one is better than the other. In fact, I prefer to play the game on ps3 rather than 360, simply because the problems with the 360 version annoy me mo...
You aren't accounting for the fact that the PC version is debug code, and runs on directx9 at the moment.
I've played it on PC and I can pretty much say unequivocally that it's the best looking game I've seen to date. The campaign took me about 12 hours, 2 of which were probably spent just standing still and taking in the scenery. Times Square on a rainy night looks like Blade Runner.
Consider the fact that I have a modest rig, and can run...
Ugh, I'm not sure I'd ever get used to playing with a motion controller. It's like an Arcade/Time Crisis situation where you move the crosshairs around a stilted screen. Too impractical for my money.
I'll be buying it despite having already played through it. It's probably my favourite single player campaign released thus far in 2011. The Grand Central Station missions are worth the price of admission alone, you know..if you payed for it.
I haven't got a doubt in my mind that the PC version of Crysis 2 is visually the most impressive game I've seen. Standing still in New York with the trees waving, the paper and debris flying around, the smoke and ashes and various other particle effects blow me away. All the while, I play the game on medium settings, on BETA code, running at a fairly consistent 55-60fps.
You can argue that the draw distance isn't as good as Crysis 1, but that is just about all t...
Yeah, screw honest opinion. I bet Jim Sterling gave it 5/10 or something,
oh wait..
Killzone 3 probably does beat Crysis 2 on console, but Crysis 2 on PC is another story. The art design is perhaps a little uninspired by comparison, but the visuals are achingly, painstakingly beautiful. The various animations of alien body/human facial movement are mind-boggling.
Look, I play the hell out of my PS3, more than any other current generation console, but I downloaded this debug BETA of Crysis 2 and I don't think anything can top it. It isn't just a wo...
@kevnb, I agree with you to some extent, I'll have to go back and compare both.
@Dr Face Doctor, I can tell you straight up that I can run Crysis 2 far better than Crysis or Crysis Warhead.
Wow, okay, so if anyone has played it yet (or not), you'll pretty much notice immediately how much better it runs then Crysis. I mean, the optimization is as good as Dead Space 2. I'm running it on a 2 year old rig and it's smooth sailing on some of the highest settings.
I agree with most of the points made. He doesn't legitimately hate every single game he plays, but he highlights aspects of the game that have been poorly implemented with far more brutal honesty than any other gaming critic. For that, I commend him. Dead Space 2 is not the terrifying game it should have, and could have been. It suffers from Resident Evil 5 syndrome. For better or for worse, it's an action game, and lacks the nuance and heart that made Dead Space such a surprise.
No. He is nothing like Paul W.S. Anderson. First of all, Anderson was a shitty director BEFORE he signed up to make videogame adaptations. David O. Russell is a great director that has yet to make a bad film. He looks at this project logically. He doesn't want an EXACT representation of the game on screen, where would the excitement be in that? He has an interpretation of it. Quite frankly, I don't want to the same thing I played. It was a fun game, and it should be left at that. <...
If you actually read the article, you'd realise that there wasn't one.
