Sony games division is the only one bringing in a declared profit. They are smart to put resources in differentiating themselves from the rest. I hope they can strive with their first party games and the upcoming horizon is looking dam good (pun intended).
Indeed physical is still cheaper and you always get some back reselling. There´s also the designer aspect of the box and content, special and limited editions.
In some aspects, digital will never be able to replace physical media.
I still see them in stores… not many units but even yesterday I saw 5 total between 2 different stores. I wonder if this scarcity is specific to big name resellers to create artificial demand? Wii all over again?

I agree pretty much with the general concept of spacing the games out whether its entirely intentional on Sony´s part or relative to the development calendar (the need for more time to improve things), there also the consumers side of things that need to be taken to account.
Aside from the money not stretching on the holiday season, there´s also the game genre aspect of it. That fact that they stacked so many FPS on top of each other doesn’t help any of them, even...

It will eventually but a lot has to change before it does. First of all, the nausea needs to be resolved and not overcome (like it is now). Also things have to be cheaper and simpler, the industry and consumer would benefit from a standard. Having a VR set for each situation where content isnt cross device compatible is a huge turn-off.
PSVR has to improve shortly… I mean version 2 will probably make an appearance sooner than later. Im not talking about resolution (althought that a given upscale eventually), I mean tracking, wireless capabilities, room scaling… These are things that have to be included relatively soon.
That wireless module that was recently developed by MIT and adapted for VIVE is meant for all tethered systems.
Quickly anyone can perceive the limitations of current mode...

These first VR titles wont make much difference (although some already do, like Farpoint) but further towards mid 2017 and 2018, the change in PSVR titles between OG PS4 and PRO will be more noticeable.
Rubbish… this is nothing new. They took a Wiimote and paired it with a VR headset.
Total jab at Microsoft´s “Scorpio the most powerful console ever made”, of course thats now and that what counts.
In a year, it will be a different story.
