2023 hands down has to go down as 1 of the greatest gaming years ever, especially for those of us that play on all platforms.
I suspect that the people saying that 2023 isn't that great of year only own 1 console.
This back end of the yr is incredibly stacked, I'm in a fight against time to finish bg3, so I can start starfield on release. then there is abput 8 other games between now and the end of the year of the minimum that i am eagerly awaitin...

In short, they put the consumer first and foremost, in that they created games they personally love and wanted to give gamers the best experience possible without nickel and diving them and wouldn't you know look at there success.
Same with cd project red prior to Cyberpunk.
There is zero excuse for other AAA devs backed by mighty publishers.
Diablo 4 had over 9000 devs and a longer dev time than bg3, and it's not even the same ...

Put it this way bg3 was barely on my radar and it wasn't until close to launch I was like I'm gonna get it.
It is now my runaway favourite for game of the year ahead of totk and ff16.
I can't see spiderman or starfield changing my mind, but we will see.
Do yourself a favour and buy bg3 though, it is the role playing game we have wished for and larian have delivered.
Same here dude, bg3 came out of nowhere for me.
As it stands it my game of the year and I really can't see anything else coming this year that gonna change my mind.
I wasn't expecting bg3 to land in my top 10 let alone top it but my lord is bg3 the new standard for RPG, I mean it is the literal definition of RPG.

Yea I didn't enjoy shadowrealm all that much either but you really should be using the quick save function and using it often lol.
Due to all the choices the game throw at you basically minute to minute, I reckon I hit that quick save button atleast every 5 mins 😂

BG3 is literally the ultimate RPG iv ever played, to the point where I think it gonna ruin my view of rpgs moving forward and what I would expect from them now.

I'm playing this on pc about 35 hrs in, ps5 will run it just fine, maybe a few downgrades here and there but it'll be fine.
Right there with you man, this is top 3-4 for me in the series.
It was my game of the year, but right now I think bg3 is gonna take that spot for moment as I'm 30 hrs in and what larian has done is amazing.

That game is utterly ridiculous in its scope, systems, freedoms, choice, voice acting just everything.
The fact they managed to get this game functioning as whole, while giving you all this choice and story just goes on one way or the other.
A few bugs are to be expected, this game and larian deserve all the plaudits, I'm not sure why haters like you are trying to drag them or the game ...
Other developers absolutely need to match the detail and breadth & options larian have provided in BG3, its absolutely gobsmacking.
Lairan isnt some major studio backed by a major publisher, if they can do it then why cant the rest put in as much effort, love and care into there games.

The heart and soul of them was both the houser brothers and lazlo two of which are now gone.
After 5 hrs with the game today, I can safely say this game is defs not lacking on the budget side of things at all.
Larian have gone all out on this, I honestly can't even imagine what a large undertaking this would have been for them to get everything working so well with all the systems in play.
It's pretty ridiculous, what they have done here.
I hope lots of gamers give it a try and show larian some support.

Insomniac are next level, absolutely insane the amount of games they are putting out at the quality they are putting out.
Best dev team going around for me at this point in time, they deserve all the plaudits they get!!
Yet another great game releasing very soon, can't wait to play my first AC game although the release isn't great timing, wish it had come a bit sooner in the year.
It will be a while before I actually get to it.
