I don't think it's a case of players not wanting to embrace change.. it's more of a case that they so far have very little reason to embrace it. Currently the best game out for it at the moment is probably the dancing game.. as a male I have very little interest in dancing games.
The whole doing away with the controller is in my opinion it's biggest weakness in gamers eyes. Gamers want to feel immersed in their games and experiences simply put for many gamers...
I think Ono is addressing everyone personally as an individual and not speaking on behalf of his company.
Ono seems like a nice and extremely honest guy. It's a shame he has to deal with such a terrible disrespectful upper management. I think Kotick secretly works for capcom or at least their CEO sees himself as a Kotick jnr.
Lol nice post without even reading the article his very first paragraph drawn direct comparisons with ps3 exclusives.
Dunno how anyone can disagree with your statements.. that video was just awful. They'd have been better off not letting the game be playable in that build and hope people were curious enough to keep interest.
@Kingdoms
Ironic coming from one of the biggest xbox fanboys on here. Maybe he trolls other articles but "overcomplicated, slow, unresponsive" sum up that video pretty accurately for me. The guy trying it out probably would have agreed t...
You know your yearly lineup is weak when you have to name arcade games in your "awesome exclusives" bit.
Funny article though.. going on about how the xbox exclusives are far better than the playstation 3 ones. I find it ironic how he completely disregards the fact that ps3 has already had at least three AAA quality exclusives released this year compared to the Xboxs 0.
Funny thing is if you actually looked past the "Activision is a class act" bit you'll find he makes a really good point about Microsoft making xbox number one for the number one online fps game and the sense in doing so.
That doesn't look half as bad as I expected it to. I guess the trailer they shown at E3 left a bitter taste. I imagine microsoft will expect it to sell well so will have lots of copies released so I'll wait for it to be in the January sales to get it.
Meh Epic like quite a few famous PC developers this gen, sold themselves out to the console generation giving PC gamers the hump in favour of ensuring maximum profit from sales. Thank god Blizzard haven't done this.. can you imagine how Starcraft 2 turned out if they decided to make a console port of it?
Wow just WoW.. please don't talk about the marketplace with just ignorant console kiddies in mind. Gears of war FPS? Jebus christ HELL NO! Also arena style fps games? Wanna know how well they're doing? Go ask the Quake Live developers.
If you can't see the obvious sarcasm in front of you, I think you need to step away from the internet.
Omnimusha sequel? Now that's an idea!
Tbh I think the three franchise examples there tell a story about Capcom.. SF guys get overpriced extremely unbalanced DLC which probably won't be balanced until the next arcade edition. Same boat for MVC3 that game is desperately in need of a patch to balance wolverine and phoenix out however I bet they don't release a patch and instead sort it for UMVC3.
RE.. I can't talk for all RE fans but the new resident evil game doesn't really look like much of a resi...
As nice as it looks.. £130 for that? I might be excited for this game but I'm not fucking retarded. Going to cancel my preorder for the collectors edition.
Already preordered! Probably the minority here but meh I've been waiting for this game ever since SOE screwed up SWG so I'll happily buy this collectors edition.
I always find it funny when people say no to 3d but wearing glasses is stupid. You'd deny yourself the latest technology just because you have to wear glasses for it? Well all fool you then tbh.
I don't think 3d will be as big as say dvds or blu ray but there is definitely a market for it and as James Cameron has proved, you can add a completely new level of immersion by using the 3d correctly.
Well look at his past three games.. all sequels to the same IP and all of them a far cry from his former creative self. Maybe it's from losing a lot of his talent to media molecule but his games are nowhere near on par with his past efforts.
Interesting idea. Finally a unique Kinect experience. If this is done right, I'd be very interested. However..
Chopra explains how video games are currently used to "create addictions to violence, adrenaline and mindlessness, rather than mindfulness".
Talk about not having a clue about gaming. "mindlessness"? Clearly she's only ever played pong. She should go play a competitive title like Starcraft, Street Fighter or CS and then c...
Yeah, I still play the movies, it's so unique and never gets boring!
It's just a shame Microsoft has him chained up. I hope he eventually leaves lionshead and starts making games where he is free to flex his creative muscle without restraint.
Wolverwine *cough* Phoenix *cough*... before you talk about balance. I'd be all for this version if they took the time and released an update for MvC3 to balance these characters out. Instead we're going to have to pay to get a more balanced game.
