I never actually thought Epic were going to make a kinect game tbh. Like many developers, they are playing it safe waiting to see how games sell before investing in Kinect games. They'll probably add some voice support or the odd small feature but I doubt they'll even contemplate making a kinect only game until Fable or Ryse prove that the core audience will pick it up.
If Child of Eden isn't selling, things are looking bleak for kinect games. This is the only game that has the potential to appeal to core gamers (like 75% of the 360 audience at the very least) and if they can't even shift that..well it's not a good sign.
It's less capable for allowing freedom of movement. I'm all down for someone to do a kinect game right but as it stands "you are the controller" and core action games don't go hand in hand. I look forward to someone proving me wrong but I'm not holding out.
Seems like a standard company response.. they're just pissed that they won't be making any money from this peripheral. To be fair though it's a joke that Nyko are the ones coming out with it.. Microsoft should be looking into this themselves.
Well I'm only going off of what I know. A lot of people have stuff in their living rooms and use large coffee tables that aren't easily moved. A lot of houses I've been to don't have the room. You're from the US so please don't be ignorant and presume to know how much room we have in England. I've spent six months in Canada at least and their living rooms are somewhat bigger than the average ones in the UK. The Nyko attachment sounds good though I just hope it isn&...
@Evildead360
How many people actually have 6 feet of free space in their living rooms inside or outside of the US? In England at least, a large proportion of houses modern and old certainly don't without moving furniture/coffee tables.
People can claim the hardware is selling as well as they want tbh and that's great for microsoft but unless kinect is able to shift the supported games, it'll just become a cautionary tale. It won't ever sell al...
What were people expecting? The European PS Store has always been inferior next to the Japanese and American ones. Soul Reaver isn't a bad game though, I wouldn't mind playing that again for nostalgia's sake.
I'm ready now for the next gen of consoles.. 2013 will probably be the release though. Even if some gamers aren't ready, isn't it better to have them release sooner rather than later so when they are ready, they will have an established console to buy?
Who said I don't like Kinect? I bought it Saturday and think the technology is good albeit flawed. It has potential as a games peripheral for "different" times of games. But I don't want the last few remaining core developers for the xbox releasing kinect stuff.
If I was a developer I'd be treading extremely cautiously with Kinect. The response to the new Fable and Ryse has been far too mixed to be jumping onto the kinect bandwagon.
Ye...
Dear Microsoft, please stop paying developers to feign excitement for flawed technology and instead invest it in good games.
Now unfaithfully yours,
xbox core gamer
Not on the US store it isn't. Would love to see it though alongside suikoden 2.
Hope Chrono Cross comes to the US Store. Got so excited when I heard this announcement as well :(
If they wanna restore the faith instead of spending valuable time on interviews like this, get off your ass and add cross gaming chat. The one feature that sets xbl above psn. I can't possibly imagine it being a long time consuming costly feature to add so why not give the fans something that they've been asking for?
Well considering what a pain in the ass it is at first to just navigate menus with kinect, I dread to think how bad it'll be with gunsmith.
O god who the hell are these guys kidding? Will microsoft stop paying off developers of core titles money to try and and salvage the rightly deserved negative opinion of kinect with core gamers? Who are they fooling? I'm sure every man and his dog rushed to the ubi forums to beg ubisoft for kinect support for the next ghost recon game.. trololol.
We all know GAME's top 10 chart isn't accurate and is designed to try and help shift copies of certain games. This has been confirmed on here a few times by supposed game employees. Why do articles like this even get accepted?
Why do you presume it's Sony fanboys? For Sony fanboys it's more of a case of kicking something while it's down. I'd say the most outspoken against Kinect are hardcore 360 gamers.
I recently bought Kinect for UFC Personal Trainer. The technology is great but I don't ever see it catching on as a proper gaming peripheral. A nice bit of gimmicky fun and I'd say it'd be a great party piece if it wasn't for the fact for a lot of people it's jus...
The worst kinect title? Wow that must have been BAAAAAAD.
I dunno.. I'd say western audiences are eagerly awaiting a good jrpg.. on the 360 at least.
Well no, they pissed off all the hardcore ghost recon fans by turning their back on the awesome original Ghost Recon in favour of trying to bring in the mass shooter crowd.
