Honest question, what "great things" does it do that aren't present in any other Ratchet?
Load times are great. Visuals are pretty. Haptics are interesting and I like the level of control customization. Other than that it's like eating a box of gray crayons as far as the quality of a RaC game goes. Every "new" addition is either a point A-B skip or something that's been done better before. The rift tethers we're beyond disappointing in ho...
How did you miss any gold bolts on your first play? More than half of them are literally just sitting in the open.
I legitimately don't understand what people see in this game. It's the least creative, least engaging, lowest effort Ratchet ever made. There's barely more content than any of the later PS3 Ratchets, and what's there is poorly done.
I don't understand why you'd limit yourself to less than half of the total customers possible, but hey... you do you, Bethesda.
I'd still recommend a PS5, but as far as this game goes rent it or something. Anybody giving this over a 6/10 has lost their damn minds. It'll be the first Ratchet game I ever sell after playing, and I regard the original trilogy as the best trilogy in PS history.
You are literally insane. The level design in this is so basic it's painful. Pick any level from the original, GC, or UYA... all better designed, better use of obstacles, better platforming, better enemy layout, better puzzles, more memorable, higher replay value. Every new "addition" to this game is used as a crutch to skip from point A to B with zero thought or planning.
I'm almost at the end and it's the most linear, least inventive Ratchet so far. It's pretty disappointing. Huge RAC fan and sad to see it go downhill in favor of pretty set pieces and action sequences.
Two button layout; dive and botch.
I like that you both ragged on people that rant incessantly about themselves and also took the time to point out how you're "different". Never change.
It also needs better dungeons, less forced animations, and better combat controls with overhauled targeting. Not holding my breath.
Hell yeah! Salt and Sanctuary is an amazing game. Great news!
Gaming "journalism", folks.

I doubt it's better than UYA, but I hope to be proven wrong Friday.
Your summation is dead wrong. The PS3 came out in 2006. The PS2 itself was produced through 2012, and the games 2013. Sony "abandoned" nothing because doing so would be stupid beyond words.
PS2 games were developed well after 2010; some even so far into 2013. The PS3 came out in 2006.
Abandoning that user base would be almost as stupid as trying to defend this braindead article or it's braindead writer. Almost.

Gamers acting like spoiled entitled brats? No, it can't be.
For the guy below you, I have a Vive. I don't play it nearly as often as just sitting down to play regular games. It's a chore to use, and most of the time I'd rather relax while playing a game since my life's pretty active.
People are just realizing what I realized a over a decade ago after standing outside in the cold for 14 hours for a launch day Wii: Motion controls are rarely that fun beyond the initial "wow" factor, and they quickly become a chore.
Since I can't reply below, what's great about the weapons and story? The story is as generic as it gets, and the weapons are all incredibly uninteresting compared to past offerings.
I get I'm in the minority but there is literally nothing about this game that puts it over any past RaC; maybe some of the later short PS3 games, but any of the originals are head and shoulders above this game in every aspect except hardware improvements.
