Gamers toxicity is new news to some people but I worked with a guy who developed some PS3 hacks. Super nice guy. The messages people sent him made me lose faith in the entire gaming community, and that was a decade ago. Can't even imagine the BS homebrew devs deal with now.

The controls for the PS2 games were pretty rough before AC3. I'd say start there, but if you want a real challenge AC2 is a good place to start.

I don't pay it. Wait a month and it's $40 or less. There is zero point in buying games day of release now unless it's some mega event you've been waiting for like Elden Ring.
I'm only about a third of the way through Sparks, but the first one has more personality and better overworlds, and the second one has better gameplay overall. If they could marry the two they'd have a near-perfect game.

I beat the tutorial, got a bit into the first level and never picked it up again. Boring beyond words. Story was stupid, voice acting was as cringe as it gets, gameplay was super generic, and my trust in reviewers became even more non-existent.

Yep, and Demon's Souls is still my favorite even though it probably isn't the best game technically in the series. The environment and feel of that game experienced in the time period it came out will never be replicated.
It was just something else.
