Oh you're totally right! There's a 3 in the title. That means it's guaranteed to be amazing! I totally forgot that rule in the gamer's handbook. I also forgot that the 3 signifies that a game will never be delayed or cancelled.
Now if the game was all ready to ship out to retailers and they canned it, that's a different story. If you actually bought a 3DS based on a title and a prototype, you deserved to lose $250. At least it's not a total loss, you ...
If anyone was stupid enough to drop $250 because of a title of a game that they knew nothing about, they deserved it.
There's a really simple answer to that. YOU own the LICENSE to the game, not the game itself. It's not transferrable to your kids or your grandkids or your great grandkids, so on and so forth.
Right because you always have a need to play a game you haven't touched in the span of 2 years. 24 months and you haven't loaded the game up even once? You're not going to miss it.
Why would 3rd party revenue be cut in half? It wouldn't change at all. In fact, their profits would increase since they don't have to allocate time and resources to porting from one console to another or developing concurrently.
To take this generation as an example, everyone with a PS3 or a 360 right now would have the SONY/MS console. 3rd parties will still be selling to an installed base of 100 million regardless of whether it's 2 consoles or 1.
Developers too lazy or is the 3DS so underpowered that it can't run the game and have minimal online features running in the background?
lol, all the big developers are saying, "No plans right now" or "It remains to be seen." When it comes to bringing their big franchises to the WiiU. I'm not surprised at all. WiiU won't get support because #1. It's Nintendo. and #2. PS360 combine for over 100 million unit sales. Of course they're going to concentrate on the huge installed base first.
Then when the next PS3/360 is released, they'll concentrate on that instead of the WiiU...
I don't get this "argument" at all. So what if it came out a year ago? It's the first time it's available to PS3 users who don't have access to a 360.
If MGS4 were to appear on the 360, you'd better damn well be sure that it's going to cost you $60.
HS by Sony Santa Monica would be cool. But I'd rather they move onto a completely new IP.
I still don't see a problem. If you borrow a game from your friend and online is really that important, pony up the $10 for the pass. You're still saving $50 and $10 is basically the price of renting a game for a week.
The 360 DOES become less capable when using the Kinect and it's not something that can be solved. THAT's the problem with it.
The Wii's success has nothing to do with the software. The Wii has the most pathetic game library of this generation. It's possibly the worst library in Nintendo console history.
@mendicant
Why do they need to rethink their strategy when they're turning a profit? You Home haters may find it hard to believe, but it's the 80-20 rule in operation here. Only 20% of the PSN population may be using Home but they account for 80% of Home's money transactions. Since online is free, this is basically the only income Sony has to offset the costs.
XBOX LIVE on the other hand charges upwards of $50/$60 per year. Comparing the services of PSN t...
It wouldn't have made a difference. With the HUGE installed base of the Wii in japan, 3rd party JRPGs still sold poorly. What makes you think it would have made the japanese public buy an xbox (which they hate) just to play those games?
PSHome is a HUGE cash cow for Sony so while you may not like it, Sony sure as hell does.
It's one of the most ambitious PSP games so I doubt it won't make it out over here. If it'll save time and money, they should just subtitle it instead of dubbing it completely.
And I don't think a DD version is a good idea. At 2 UMDs, that's at least 2.8GB in size. Even if they compress it and take out the redundant data on the second disc, it'll still be at least 2GB. Most psp owners only have the 2GB card that came with the system.
geez you don't even know what it is. it could be like the rockstar pass, where all dlc is discounted if you buy the pass plus freebies.
And the PS1.
Obviously the 10 year life cycle means they'll be supporting it for at least that long. PS2 games were still being released well into the PS3's reign at the top for Sony. PS1 games were still released well into the PS2's reign. And guess what, PS3 games will still be released when the PS4 is out. It's ridiculous that 3 generations in, people still take the "10 year life cycle" so literally.
Too late for whom exactly? Sony/MS dictate the gaming market. They can release their consoles whenever they want. Nintendo is a total non-factor in terms of target market.
