So you think it's logical for any company to buy a video game IP that hasn't been relevant for a decade to the tune of at least $1 billion USD? Do you know how many units they'd have to sell (including sequels/spinoffs/etc) to recoup a billion dollars?

The console version is in Korean. The PC version is not. They blamed localization delays due to development times. Does not compute. The game uses the same script on console as it does on PC.
We're in what, the 8th generation of consoles now? How are articles like this still a thing? Sony started working on PS5 probably before the PS4 even launched. MS started on XB2 before the XB1 launched. Nintendo started on NX before the WiiU launched. Tech companies don't launch a product and then wait a few years and THEN decide to start working on their next project. They're already off and running on the next thing even before the current thing is out the door.
You're not getting it. If you can max out something that's it. You keep bringing up optimization. If it can be optimized, it didn't hit max. Max is the end of the road. Like I said above, if they can optimize to get better performance, it means it was never maxed to begin with. Max is the end. Being able to optimize means it wasn't at max.
Not really. "maxed out" means the limit has been reached. If you've reached the outer limits of what it can do, you can't go beyond that. If they were able to tweak something here and optimize something there to get another 1fps out of it or improve textures or improve loading times, it means they didn't hit the max with U2.

MS hiring Kojima won't make a dent in the Japanese games market and Sony hiring Kojima won't make any changes in the Japanese games market either. He's just one dude. He puts out a game every 5 years. Given a choice, of course you'd want him in your stable but he alone won't make or break either company.

What's hilarious about this is that no one cared about Silent Hill (because the games were terrible) and no one really cared about PT, UNTIL Konami removed it from PSN. Then it became a must-have demo and mobs with pitchforks and torches marched on Konami for cancelling it. And now it's the most important game of all time and MS is putting down billions (yen?) to get it and win the console war.
