The only truly free element that you mention is the stages. Sure you don't need real money to get all the new characters, skins and karts but boy will you have to grind for it. I quit halfway the 2nd GP because I was putting in 1,5-2 hours of real play time just for the 30 min of wumpa time bonus. 200 lightning strike dodges for venus sigil. Done it at least 5 times (4 for "perfect" files of my own - beating Penance & maxing stats - and 1 for a friend). Easier if you mute the sound IMO.

For those of you lucky enough to have a laptop or PC with a HDMI port, just hook it up to your HDTV and stream from sites that have the full thing, like GameTrailers. It's probably not 1080p but it looked pretty good to me (and of course it's the full uncut footage).
At first he was all "this isn't a competition" but at the end he was going on how "we're the first one to innovate like this and we hope people will follow in our footsteps, and not just in the racing genre, but all game types". Wow, how can one be so full of himself?
It's good to see Naughty Dog didn't just dump all of the memorable supporting cast from the first game - Eddy comes to mind. The new Trailer looks sick but I want to see the helicopter chase in it's full HD glory on my TV, so I'm hoping Sony will fix us up with that gameplay trailer soon as well.
Even some of the best movies have dumb mistakes and plot holes in them. Just because they have great scource material and a big budget, doesn't mean it'll "all come together". I think any objective person would gladly take the movie as it is (with it's flaws) instead of just going with the flow of this topic - saying that it's bad for minor reasons.
So the movie has been out for 2 days (officially) and already it has a bunch of morons waiting to totally trash it. Why is it that unless a movie is oscar worthy these days (especially if it also has a game counterpart) that it has to suck? It's not the case - just look at Iron Man, heck even the latest Hulk movie is about as good as a movie about the Hulk is gonna get.
X-Men Wolverine Origins is an enjoyable action movie that has plenty of spectacular visuals and fits in nicely...
I thought The Dark Knight was the best movie of '08 and definitely dig GTA IV. Yet you don't see me going about killing children. It's obvious the guy was a whack job and if it wasn't GTA IV and TDK, he would have been influenced by something else and probably still would have done something horrible.
I'll be getting the full disc just for the 3 Streets Of Rage games. I already have most of the others because I own the Megadrive Collection for PS2. It's just puzzling to see that Sony didn't have these awesome games on offer unlike the Wii or the 360. Oh, half price and upgraded graphics are a great incentive as well. Too bad there's no Revenge Of Shinobi. I still own the original but my crappy Sega controllers won't let me play it properly :(

But Hard is a b*tch to FC as well and only 2-3 people have done it. Still the multiple 20NPS strumming sections and the clusterf*ck solos such as Victory Solos K and R, had a lot of people convinced this song would never get FC'd. I've passed it myself recently, so I can relate how incredible FC'ing this song is.
Seriously, the only thing that made SOME Xbox stand out in the onslaught of awesome PS2 titles was a slight graphical edge. You can't really be serious that a Dreamcast title (even if it was of the "... of" series) was miles ahead of FFX on all fronts. FFX is and always will be an awesome game. Along with titles like GT4, MG3, GOW2, SOTC, Okami, Tekken 5 and many others, they gave PS2 gamers much more diversity and an overall better playing experince than Xbox gamers.
Simple as that. The way things are looking, 2009 could be even better for us PS3 gamers.
I tried the demo yesterday and I think it's worthy of a purchase. I'll hold out a bit though if there's a more "complete" version of the game coming at a reduced price.

Hmm, I keep seeing everyone defending the game like crazy. I was seriously looking forward to this as a fan of the original but had the leaks spoil the experience for me. It's been interesting to see someone else play through it, but I have zero intention of playing it myself.
