I understand not everyone is gonna give it a 9 or a 10, but going under 7, let alone a 5, is at the very least weird. Even if it's not your genre, a vg journalist should be able to objectively review something, right? Or am I overestimating journo integrity?
Great game. Happy to see it do well.
Hate is a bit too strong I suppose, but I definitely didn't like her.
Have yet to finish before I could come to this conclusion. It's awesome so far but don't know whether it'll beat out God Of War, Sekiro and Uncharted (among others). Think it's a solid 9, maybe it'll even go up to a 9,5 by the time I'm done with it.
Well deserved. Great to see SP's efforts being rewarded with good sales numbers.
Sure, let's have nr 3 in a few years. Depending on whether ND releases any other games, only then will the impact of TLOU2 be clear in sales numbers. I'll definitely take professional reviews with a grain of salt.
@Baza - Thanks for proving my point. I dismantled the argument, gave fair counter arguments, called out previous immaturity from the accuser and gave an opinion on where the cause of the divide may lie, without insulting those that disagree.
End result - more dislikes than likes and then your simple minded comment, how I'm immature, and lack comprehension of the deep story. No, you guys are so narrow minded, you couldn't see a blue pen in front of you, without call...
That's just a bad argument. Does someone more intelligent more easily see it as a good game? Or is being a mature 15-year old enough for your point? It's too vague, can't be qualified in the way you claim.
You want to have a proper discussion, how about you give proper discussion points and try counter good points from the ones that don't like it in a "mature" manner? Half your responses, I see you grasping back to "you mad because they killed...
I enjoyed the experience with headphones. Really brought out that manic, multiple voices in your head crazy-feel. Too bad there wasn't much there in terms of gameplay, let alone fun.
What is the fascination with historical accuracy in this game? And why does it need to be pointed out when it isn't. Unless SP had said beforehand that they were going to make the most historically accurate game, then maybe I'd get it.
However, SP has made a fun gameplay experience while taking some liberties in the history department. Seems like a strange element to keep bringing up as it objectively should not impact one's experience with GoT.
@enigma - I didn't write the article, nor am I advocating for hateful/negative articles for this game to keep coming. However, I do call out bad arguments if I see them, definitely if they overgeneralize, like in this particular case.
If more people on this forum would be as open minded, or at least just hearing out what exacty the other side is saying, maybe we'd get to a properly argumented discussion without name calling and dismissing those who have the "wrong" opinion.
Game wise definitely not, story wise I've seen people (not of the types you would call intelligent) come up with better concepts for this game's story than what we got.
Oh my God would you just give it a rest. We understand you like deep dark stories, even if you can't for the life of you see that TLOU2's is incredibly shallow. Those who didn't like it didn't expect/want some Disney happily every after. It's one of the lamest excuses that keeps coming back. Just stop!
@Foxhound - no it's called being overly reliant on coincidence for convenient story twists. Just like GOT S8, if the characters were written well enough that when taking certain atypical/extreme actions, it would be believable for the audience, only then would you have proper character development.
For this ending, I know that they were going for Ellie slowly succumming to her violent actions being wrong, but right up until the very end fight with Abby, in terms of game...
@ziggurcat - Well that's quite an overgeneralisation. What about those of us who didn't find the story compelling or interesting enough and in the end didn't really care?
Druckmann said that we would either love it or hate it, but those that just couldn't get into it, for whatever reason, just felt like it was pointess, stretched out and emotionally burdening the player just for the sake of it.
Just like we're used from ND, it was tec...
I think people who adhere to logic are just sick of all the SJW political propaganda. And it's so much worse today, so it's only logical some of us get angry and speak out whenever there's yet another non-sensical article about a miniscule detail in a game that's supposedly an unspeakable evil.
The fact that it's found its way into our favourite passtime, especially with so called professional journalists only caring about their own ideologies being voic...
I don't think there are many games like TLOU2 where story is that important, thus stories leaking in advance wouldn't mean much for most games. Heck, I'm semi expecting a pretty cliché storyline for this game, but here is where the gameplay alone will make out how most people score the game.
Well deserved, Sucker Punch. Amazing what you can do, when you deliver a great game without trying to reinvent the wheel and alienating half your audience.
