Going from the N64 controller to the DC controller was nothing short of a revelation. So much more natural/comfortable to hold and so many more degrees of freedom. Dont know what you're smoking but I want some..

The DC is easily most true gamers' favorite console of all time, "The brightest star burns quickest" as they say. Heres hoping the NX is the Nintendo's Dreamcast where they leapfrog m$oft and sony at least a little bit in the graphics dept. and innovate with awesomely immersive 3D gaming experiences (no side scrolling rehashes plz Nintendo) like the N64 ushered in in it's day. All im hoping for is that they make a 3D Mario game that makes people remember why gamers went crazy for them in the 90's. would be cool if it was really expensive and powerful enough to replicate CG quality graphics. nintendo would change the game completely just like they did in the beginning of the N64 era. NO more cutesy style games like Mario's Furry Fuckfest with 15 different ice-cream, candy, magical beach resort levels. A COOL immersive looking Mario 3D Launch title. If Nintendo really wants to go for broke and bring back its status as the kings of fun and pioneers of 3D game presentation they need to go all out with the proposed first gen NX Mario title. Im thinking a hyper immersive 3D darker mood higher coolness Mario64 style title that really pushes people's expectations of what 3D console gaming is. Imagine a Mario NX reveal where they completely change the game, again.

3DS is doing quite well. I would have liked the 3D to be higher resolution. If a next-gen 3DS comes out with at least a 480p or 720p 3D screen(while in 3D mode) and 720p 3D cameras I can see it being very popular. smartphones still dont have features like that. 720p 60fps 3D slomo video would be an extremely awesome feature. coupled with at least PS3 quality graphics in 3D mode and it would be something pretty epic all the while boring 2D smartphones keep adding boring new "features"...
would be slick if they out-3D'ed 3DS and added a holographic lightfield display with plenoptic cameras. Would be kind of lame to stick with just high-rez 2D since every smartphone has that already.

It might have made a difference if it were a launch title but yeah, the article headline is pretty much on point. On that note I hope Nintendo ditches the 2D side scroller oldschool rehashes and does something really fresh and raw and immersive for the first round of NX titles. IDK about the rest of you but I have been JONESING for a Mario launch title that returns to the awesomely immersive and exploratory vibe of the N64 era's landmark Super Mario 64. Something that looks like this:
