They already did sonic the hedgehog 4 which wasnt too hot. What they NEED to really get the hardcore sonic/sega fans back on board is a new Sonic Adventure with a hubworld like station square, good music, no more homing auto-targeting, and JUST sonic and tails levels where the characters RUN FAST PERIOD. and some knuckles levels where he can fly around and run/reach an end goal like sonic/tails but no more emerald shard collecting.
Sonic generations was still garbage compared to SA1.
@Xavier Holographic gaming systems and portables should be the norm or at least in the conceptual stages by that time but yep. VR will most likely be at 4k per eye 75FPS and will just keep getting more immersive.
The Gear VR I tried at bestbuy still seemed pretty low rez to me, supposedly the phone has a 1440p screen but all the videos felt to me that they were streamed through youtube at 480p (per eye I guess). I tried the mars one and the under the ocean demo and it still felt really screen door-y. Are the demo videos not that good? It was still cool but it didnt even seem like 2x720p to me.
I fully support and welcome any new 3D "gimmicks" the Nintendo NX may or may not provide as well as the new Nintendo 4DS®. 480p or Vita resolution (while in 3D mode) with the ability to record 3D movies in 720p at 60fps *drools* and plays and streams all types of 3D media files.
I would rather have glasses free 3D at 1080p with 60FPS per eye and or VR at the same price of a bullshit 4KTV. 4K is the real gimmick, offers nothing new(and yes Ive seen 4KTVs) also if people think a phone needs 1440p resolution to be "cutting edge" they need to get a life.

The dev could be genuinely surprised by how well the haptics works for simulating buttons and in the analogue sticks but that said, this is still one ugly ass controller, hopefully the games dont look weaksauce as well.

This game doesnt even seem like its running unreal 4. seems more like Unreal 3.5 to me. even the launch unreal 4 engine demos were leagues better than anything in these screenshots. also you would think they'd have fixed the strawberry jam looking blood in this one but nope:/
N64's perspective corrected 3D rendering made PS1's craggly 3D polygons look like garbage..
If the NX continues with the current Nintendo trend of only offering games with just "good gameplay" but paper thin atmosphere and kiddy themes (princess peach not being in danger and running around with you in a furry costume) then yes, it wont be a success.

They need to launch with a KILLER 3D Mario title. Something LUSH that transports gamers to another world like SM64 did back in the days of the N64 launch. I really like this Idea. It would let people who want to take of advantage of glasses free 3D displays in the near future without having to buy a PC and deal with crap Nvidia 3D setups and complicated tridef software, you could just pop in a higher tier graphics card option that Microsoft chooses out of 3 tiers lets say, then youre playing the same game you were playing at 1080p 30 2D in 1080p 3D per eye at 60FPS or VR or 4K 60fps. PCs are very powerful but the drivers and compatibility issue...
Launch with a new 3D Mario game that is more SM64 type and less galaxy/3D world (Big and mysterious hub but closed off levels for lots of platforming and wall jumping opportunities) and have it be lush and atmospheric by making it not just a graphical showcase for the system, but raises the bar of 3D game presentation for the entire generation. between PS1 and PS2? no. DC had much better filtering than grainy ass PS2. compare the DOA2 on PS2 and the DC and then revise that wrong statement buddy. and the sad thing is PS2 had TWICE the ram of the DC and the 480p signal from DC still came out WAY cleaner than PS2's.
