TRUTH: the X Box sold 25 million units (ie, 25 million X Box fans were made)

TRUTH: the X Box 360 has sold 17-18 million units to date.

*LOGICALLY, it's a rather understandable assumption to believe that, until the X Box 360 sells to the remaining 4 million X Box fans, they *AREN'T really making significant headway into tapping into Sony or Nintendo's markets.

TRUTH: the Playstation 2 has sold 120 million + units (ie, 125 million Playstation 2 fans were ...

Ready at Dawn are doing research for a Playstation 3 exclusive.

whatever it is they are working on, they have a new fan, and i'll follow their work fervently.

i loved Daxter, and i'm currently playing through Chains of Olympus, and both are *FANTASTIC PSP games. CoO is particularly amazing, in that it truly does feel like God of War in the palm of your hand, but it's no less as epic.

the vistas and draw distances in that game are *AMAZING! and the gamep...

i mean, who the hell do those Sony Defense Force goons think they are, using their mind control powers to control your stubby fingers, moving the mouse cursor over to every single Blu Ray related link, and *FORCING your to click on the story, then, in their infinite nerve, they manipulate your eyes and brain into actually *READING said Blu Ray related story, completely *AGAINST your will!

the first time i played a GTA game was back in 1997, when the first GTA game came out.

i had just turned 18 and got it on my Playstation. it was the first time i set foot in Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas.

fast forward some, and i eagerly picked up GTA III for my Playstation 2. it was the second time i entered Liberty City, and i was blown away. Vice City and San Andreas soon followed.

now here we are, and i'm poised to set foot in Liberty Cit...

not a frigging CHANCE!

if Microsoft allowed developers to create games on a potential Blu Ray add on for the 360, that's akin to them saying, "Sony was right about *EVERYTHING, you should have bought their system instead, it's *CHEAPER!"

if anything, Microsoft will keep the Blu Ray add on for movies only, and pimp DVD being enough for this gen until they decide to prematurely pull the plug on the 360 and release their *NEXT console, which will use Blu Ray a...

now that Blu Ray has won, Sony is the only company out there that are going to make Blu Ray drives.

what will drive the prices down is the competition between the various Blu Ray player manufacturers, from Pioneer, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, Hitachi, etc.

they will be competing on price the same way DVD player manufacturers were competing on price, even though there was no direct competition to DVD.

Blu Ray movie prices will also come down, as various stu...

as far as i can tell, *ALL Playstation 3s do these three things:

play Blu Ray movies

play Blu Ray *GAMES

have a built in hard drive.

it's not like if you buy a 20, 40, 60, or 80gig PS3 you'll be screwed out.

i mean, you'll be able to play, i don't know, Burnout Paradise *ONLINE for example, on *ALL Playstation 3 units.

now, if the PS3 *DIDN'T come with a built in HD player, or a built in Hard Drive, and that was som...

but only for *THIS list. lol.

it's from Level 5, so it's a day one purchase guaranteed.

here's my list of games that i *MUST HAVE by the end of 2008:

1. Infamous (i'm going to pimp this game until people catch on)
2. Little Big Planet
3. GTAIV
4. MGS4
5. LA Noire
6. Heavy Rain
7. White Knight Story
8. Killzone 2
9. Resistance 2

3. Heavy Rain
4. LA Noire
5. Haze
6. Prototype
7. Valkyria Chronicles (as far as i know, it's a new IP)

my gaming plate is so stuffed this year, i don't know what to do, honestly. this ...

and *BUYING Guitar Hero, i beg to differ.

i worked for Activision for two years, testing such "greats" as Spider-Man 2 (great swing engine, but *NOTHING else in that game), X-Men Legends (fun enough game, but nothing AAA worthy), and i was the floor lead on the Gamecube version of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (unfortunately).

outside of a few games, Activision isn't even close to being on par with a Sony, Nintendo, Capcom, Konami, Naughty...

i mean, i know what it's like to lose something very sentimental or important to you (a few years ago, my car was broken into while i was paying my phone bill in the store, and my backpack was stolen. my GBA was in there, as well as a PS1 memory card with a complete FFVII game on it, but that wasn't important. the devastating part is that my backpack was full of 3 *YEARS worth of notes and drawings for a project i was working on at the time. sketches, scripts, conc...

of course, i'm also guilty of that, but in this instance, you people championing a new console in two more years are selfish bastards.

here, let me explain.

how much did Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo spend on R&D for the X Box 360, Playstation 3, and Wii, respectively?

answer: *MILLIONS (and for MS *BILLIONS, as they had to spend $1 billion just to cover warranty extensions and console replacements because they rushed to start this "next generat...

i have a serious question:

was Crysis actually *GOOD GAME?

i mean, i've watched videos, but it just looked like an FPS.

the graphics were phenomenal of course (despite the fact that probably 80% or more of the people that got it couldn't run it that way), but the gameplay looked like standard FPS fare.

in truth, most FPSes are pretty much the same in that regard, but what sets them apart aside from packing it with features, is tone, atmosphe...

the only people who think an obsolete disc medium is going to be around forever are those X Box 360 owners that believed Microsoft when they said that "DVD is enough for this generation."

not all games will use up a 25gig BD. not all games will use up a 50gig BD, but some will.

not all games last generation were on DVDs (Ico, and the original Lego Star Wars game are just two that come to my mind that were on CDs, despite DVD being the new medium for games)....

with Kojima gone, the MGS series is over.

i guarantee Konami will continue the series, and probably with Solid Snake as the main character (he is a clone after all), but i probably won't be as enthused about them as i am with the Kojima games.

hopefully, he'll get to work on ZOE 3 once MGS4 is all wrapped up.

*EDIT - 4 disagrees? for *WHAT?

last year, Kojima was quipping that a 50 gig Blu Ray disc may not be big enough for MGS4.

i guess he was right after all!

i can't wait to get my grubby mitts on this baby when it comes out on June 12th (already marked on my calendar!), whether it fills up a 50gig or not.

this news just reaffirmed, to me, that Kojima truly is going all out for his final Metal Gear Solid game, and i think fans are in for a real treat.

it's been a great 20+ yea...

Insomniac came out before Resistance was released and said that the game used up 16gigs of space.

Ratchet and Clank future used 22gigs space

Uncharted used 24

Heavenly Sword used 15.

stop spreading bullsh*t and get out of this thread. your pathetic attempts at trolling aren't warranted, wanted, or effective.

to have some official God of War 3 confirmation.

i'm still uncertain of a 2008 release, however, but it's not like i'll be hurting for PS3 games to play this year.

i'd *LOVE for GOW3 to hit this year, but i'm honestly expecting it to release sometime in Spring 2009.

for those worried about quality: COME ON! it's Sony Santa Monica! they've probably been working on this title since *BEFORE God of War 2 wrapped, and if not, it's still been in development fo...
