that often demos and walkthroughs of games at trade events were either set on "easy to average" difficulty, or God mode was turned on.
i mean, would people rather watch the demoer getting powned every few seconds because of a hard difficulty (for those that know what i'm talking about; imagine if, when they previewed Uncharted, they demoed it on the "Crushing" difficulty. lol).
in either case, AI is very difficult to judge watching someone else pl...
i love how the guy gets reamed in his comments section.
i guess he thought his "reader-base" was going to wholeheartedly agree with him. lol.
anyway, after Killzone 2, i don't doubt the Playstation 3's abilities, and after God of War 1 and 2, i don't doubt Sony Santa Monica to deliver a frigging kick-@ss action game.
put 2 and 2 together, and, well...
we'll get more looks at Kratos on the PS3 in the coming months, and since the gam...
Sony shut up a lot of people at last years E3 when they unveiled Killzone 2 looking damn close that infamous CG trailer of two years prior, so i have faith that Santa Monica will do nothing less than their best to push the game visually, AND gameplay wise.
i didn't think GOW 2 would be much better than GOW, but i was WRONG. i went back and played the original God of War, and found myself wanting to play the second instead, because of the gameplay improvements.
God of...
Sony announced so many first party, exclusive IPs (both old and new) at their E3 conference, but this one instantly had my attention right up there with inFamous.
hands down, those two are probably my most anticipated console and handheld games for next year.
when has a "standard" PSN title (ie, Super Stardust HD, Pain, Pixel Junk Monsters, etc, NOT Warhawk and GT5 Prologue), been more than $9.99.
just because the game supports 32 players doesn't mean it's going to be $29.99.
however, because of the very positive gamer response from this games unveiling, Sony may rethink the pricing strategy, and price it at bout $14 or so, just because people seem to really be clamoring for it.
i'm expecting the us...
that is all.
there were more interesting games shown at E3 than about half of that list.
the games that personally grabbed my interest this E3 were (in no particular order)
RE5 (PS3/360)
Fable 2 (360)
Fallout 3 (PS3/360)
Resistance 2 (PS3)
Resistance: Retribution (PSP)
Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty (PSN)
Fat Princess (PSN)
Pixel Junk Eden (looks fun) (PSN)
Crash Commando (ditto)(PSN)
Little Big P...
the difference between this and Lair, is the fact that Factor 5 has a very, VERY spotty track record for delivering quality games, while Sucker Punch, though only working on the Sly Cooper series, made it one of the best action/platforming titles of last generation.
anyone who's played the Sly games would be suitably excited about this title, especially after watching the various gameplay walkthrough videos and the new trailer.
try again.
they always sound so damn bitter.
anyway, this is great news for Sony.
and to think, the PS3 is practically a full $100 more expensive than it's competition, and it's selling quite impressively.
MGS4, in my mind, was truly a beginning in the steady increase of Playstation 3 sales.
the exclusives hitting this fall are shaping up to be quality, and the first half of 2009 for the PS3 is simply full of epic win, and the console will be $400 by t...
LA Noire
Heavy Rain
Team Ico's games
inFamous
White Knight Story.
*sigh*
the PS3 has so many first and second part games releasing in the next 6-18 months it's ridiculous.
we're already over halfway through 2008. February 2009 isn't that far away, and the next few months are going to be plenty busy with all the cool exclusives and multi-plats coming, starting with Soul Calibur IV at the end of this month.
they'll be no different than the Medals you earn in the game, only this time, the Medals you collect will award you trophies.
they said that they purposely programmed the hooks for Trophies into the Medals, because they thought that Trophies would be available last November, when Uncharted launched.
on Heavy Rain ever since i first heard about it, based solely on the fact that it was "from the folks that brought you Indigo Prophecy."
then, when i was at E3 in 2006, and saw the tech demo running on the PS3 in person, i was sold.
i really hope it comes out next holiday season (it'd be a great capper for a banner year for the Playstation 3).
i'm DYING to know what Team Ico has been cooking up.
apparently, Fumito Ueda said the team was working on TWO PS3 titles, with one of them being of the same atmosphere as Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
hell, that's more than what i could ask for from them, honestly. i can't wait to see them both.
it's already almost August.
September
October
November
December
this year is almost said and done, and there are a LOT of titles releasing in the next five months.
so much to look forward to.
i work at Vivendi Games, and i used to see Prototype out on the floor EVERY DAY i came into work.
in all seriousness, that game has NOTHING on inFamous.
the city looked like it was ripped from the map of Spider-Man 3 (the PS3 and 360 versions).
the animations for the main character in Prototype aren't nearly as fluid (but i'm willing to give the animations the benefit of the doubt, since that's more of a polish thing).
the story seemed pract...
any of the Playstation 3 exclusives for longer than a few minutes?
i've played every major 360 exclusive released so far, and i've enjoyed quite a bit of them, but i like the Playstation 3 games better, excepting the lack of RPGs, which the 360 has covered as far as i can see.
i own both consoles, but i'd prefer if BOTH Sony and especially Microsoft, invested in first party development instead of constantly harping on about multi-plats with exclusive DLC. i also don'...
i remember playing Crackdown at E3 a few years back, and having a blast with this other guy in co-op.
i picked up the game as soon as i got my 360, and i had a BLAST with it until i leveled up all of my skills and defeated all the gangs which, honestly, didn't take me longer than about 10 hours. after that, the game just kind of fell apart for me, and i realized, aside from jumping around the city and shooting people, there wasn't much else to do.
Keys to the City, h...
i own an Xbox 360 as well as a Playstation 3, but if they keep getting each other's games, then WHY THE HELL do i have BOTH, and why are there multiple consoles in the FIRST PLACE?
all this constant back and forth about multi-platforms is driving me crazy.
i KNOW why i have a Playstation 3:
Playstation franchises (GOW, Sly, Ratchet, GT, Killzone, etc, etc)
Blu Ray
built in Wi Fi has come in handy
Free online
PS1 and PS2 BC (i have...
my roommate was constantly getting on me about how awesome the Xbox was, so i picked one up, got Fable, Ninja Gaiden Black, and the KOTOR games, only to have MS say,
"key kids, do you love HALO?"
kids: YEAH!
"do you love KOTOR?"
kids: YEAH!
"do you love FABLE?
kids: YEAH!
"then pony up some more dough, because the sequels to those classic franchises are only coming to the 3...
but to add another bit of perspective,
you do know that a lot of the reason why the Playstation 2 was such a big success was because it HAD games, right?
i mean, where were the numerous, high quality titles on the Gamecube and Xbox?
if third parties weren't putting up enough for the system, it then becomes the job of the first party to step up and produce content.
Sony was getting support from third parties with the PS2, but that didn't stop...
for me to narrow it down to just one best of.
i loved
Fat Princess (this fall)
Little Big Planet (this fall)
Ratchet and Clank Future: QFB (this summer)
Resistance 2 (this fall)
Killzone 2 (next year)
inFamous (which is the one i'm really looking forward to the most next year)
MAG has me intrigued for next year, as does GOW 3. it's just looking good all around, honestly.
the PS3 has stepped it up significantly this yea...
