The only thing Sony really didn't get right with the PS3 was universal PS2 support in every console like the PS2 had for PS1 games. Understandable given the insane still by today's standards graphics hardware in the PS2.
Other than that the PS3 is simply awe-inspiring:
* The biggest graphical power advantage ever in a console over other systems. The PS3 is now running a game that not only matches what people claimed was impossible this gen, but actually surpasses tha...
* The most powerful console in history * The most reliable/silent console at least in the disc base console era * The largest and most diverse first party developer studio lineup * The first console ever to launch a next gen movie/storage format with BluRay
After Sony walked into the market and sold 105+ million PS1s the PS2 was supposed to be a gigantic failure. That was the story the media wanted to write. They kept trying b...
"I wish bioshock 2,cod:m 2 etc.... use this power "
It would be incredible but the stupid 10 megs of EDRAM the 360's graphics hardware is gimped with means that you could never run an Killzone 2 level engine on the 360. The deferred rendering engine that makes KZ2 looks so insane requires large render buffers that are impossible for the 360 graphics hardware to implement.
Even if that wasn't the case the lack of the massive power and bandwidth of the SPUs t...
I won't embarass you any more by posting images that show the huge number of improvements the final version has over the "impossible CGI level graphics".
" I really thought this type of stuff was going to arrive early in Home."
Early? The beta went live to some 18 or 19 million PS3 users worldwide in the middle of December. Take away a week or two of vacation time at the end of the year and Home has only been live for a little over a month or so.
And in that short time we've already gotten the non-gaming space going live.
At one time there actually were real game journalists. If you were a Sega fan you stuck to Sega games. If you were a Nintendo fan you stuck to your console games. At worst everyone inflated the scores for their favorite console's big games. But overall it was just a wash.
Around the time the Dreamcast died and the Xbox arrived, fans of these consoles started to view gaming journalism and reviews as a weapo...
vgchartz fabricating sales numbers to try to help the little kid who runs the site's favorite console the 360.
gametrailers getting caught falsifying video comparisons to try to make the PS3 version of a game look bad, intentionally using incorrectly setup video settings to make PS3 games look washed out, overly compression PS3 screenshots so they have more artifacts, getting repeatedly caught doing these th...
"The next issue of Qore offers video features on Resident Evil 5, Godfather II and MLB 09 The Show. However, the included download for this month's episode has nothing to do with any of these games. In fact, the download for this month's Qore is a legacy PS1 title, Syphon Filter. The classic PS1 title will be bundled with the...
"Original SF is coming with the new qore for free"
Perfect timing, was just about to buy the original for my PSP.
Bend is looking to hiring level artists and they are now done with Resistance for the PSP. 2009 is certainly too soon for a full PS3 game from them unless they have already been working on it in addition to the PSP game.
This is basically a tantrum over a game this guy thought would fail or get trashed in review scores but instead is generating mass hysteria and praise from people who have played it.
How much more pathetic can these clowns in the media get:
"You think you are blown away and loving Killzone 2, but you really aren't"
"Stop lying to yourself that you are loving the Killzone 2 demo, you aren't...
