Arstechnica is a PC/Windows/Microsoft site. Always have been, always will be.
This is just the latest in a long history of crap put out by them about Sony and the Playstation.
I think it has been almost a year and four months since the PS3 had its last price cut and it selling for 100 dollars more than the PS2 ever did and 200 dollars, more in Europe, than the 360 and it just sold roughly the same number of consoles as Microsoft did last year.
Absolutely love how much is packed into the game. You have the main Castlevania game with tons of stuff to unlock. Plus Castlevania: Symphony of the Night included. Plus the original Rondo of Blood included. Also I love the Boss tutorial mode you can save up gold to show you how to defeat certain bosses(all of them if you spent a huge amount of time just replaying levels and building up gold).
I picked up Disgaea: Hour of Darkness for the PS2 and the Disgaea for PS3 and am blown away. Definitely feel like a complete and utter noob.
midboss...funniest thing I've ever seen in a game.
I'll have to check out the Prinny game although I really should get moving and get up speed on the core Disgaea games. Getting spanked in the early levels.
Loco Roco - the perfect pick up and play for short bursts. First play through is easy. Now going back and finding all the secrets and unlocking everything. Thought it was a silly kids game but it is actually technically brilliant in its own way. Just picked up Loco Roco 2 today new for 20 bucks.
Patapon - Much deeper than it appeared to me in the previews. Only downside is you really need to play with headphones anywhere its not completely q...
60 GB launch PS3, too. I've been playing mass numbers of PS2 games over the past two years and haven't had a single even minor problem with BC. Maybe I'm lucky.
I absolutely love my 60 GB, but I somewhat feel guilty for feeling smug about having it. I really hope the manufacturing costs drop enough that Sony comes out with a high BC model. I could easily spend the next five years just working through my PS2 backlog.
I've only played for about ten minutes but I can say it is absolutely gorgeous and dreamy. Just gliding around the landscape discovering how the game works feels so relaxing.
Tens of thousands of people played the multiplayer beta with the exact same controls and found it to be either the best fps they ever played or at least on of the top few they've ever played.
Huge number of of 9.5-10/10 reviews came out.
It wasn't until a single idiot in a review complained about it that suddenly and magically the forums were filled with idiots and Xbox fans claiming they had 'teh lag' problem.
BluRay is out pacing DVD adoption over VHS and over 22 million PS3s with every game on a BluRay disc is rapidly ramping up volume and driving per disc prices down.
Hopefully writeable BluRay discs get down to writeable DVD prices per GB soon. 25/50 GB backups will be incredible.
Square Enix this gen is like watching the video game equivalent of The Producers; it's like they are trying to screw every single thing possible up this gen.
About year or two ago I remember people talking about how someone from Edge came right out and flatly stated that they use a harsher scoring system for PS3 games in one of their forums or somewhere on their site.
I had always wanted to track down the original text, but this sickening evidence pretty much makes it mute.
