From the looks of it there will be a lot of exploration (discovering new species) and dog fights.
I'm not too worried about gameplay as other games have released with far less gameplay and replayability and have received rave reviews. Games such as Flower and Journey especially come to mind as both are very short experiences only lasting 3-5 hours each, have far less exploration and little to no replay value.

I think there is a lot of excitement around No Man's Sky, but I don't think it is over-hyped or being over-hyped.
The excitement is around a game of this scale being built by a team of 4-5 people, accomplishing what many big AAA devs have not been able to do with millions and millions behind them in finances.
Over-hype was Titanfall, DMC, Watchdogs, GTAIV and some other big games that over promised.

Depends what stars they use. I think they could call it something like Def Jam legends and go Old Skool with a roster.
Then can even throw special stages where you get to beat up Bieber and have stages where you have to tear down a statue of Miley Cyrus using wrecking balls.

Loved Darksiders 1 and loved Darksiders 2 even more. I bought it during a PSN sale last year and just recently played through it again to get the platinum.

I think God of War can have a new protagonist and therefor it is possible to have a new trilogy within a different myth and still carry on.
God of War to me is the story about gods from these myths having issues / problems / agendas of their own and humans being pawns in their game for survival and rule. The changes I want to see the most are:
1) longer sp
2) proper thought out story (3felt rushed towards the end)
3) better puzzles. AC2 had the best puzzles and even ISS done a better job of puzzles with the Paper trail

3) another rush job

Agree with most that the name kill strain doesn't sound so great, but when you think of what it could mean, it does make it a little bit more interesting. Kill strain sounds like some some of biological warfare or a killer virus that wiping out humanity.
Thanks for clarifying that. I dont know why, but I keep thinking it was the breaking of the seals that instigated Wars arrival on earth on Darksiders 1. I think I need to play through it again :)
On another note, I hope if they do make a 3rd Darksiders it is only on the next gen consoles and PC. You can tell they pushed the last gen consoles as far as they would go in terms of scale of the game and architecture.

The codes came from limited edition trading cards, but what they do and how they will work with the game,that info has not been released.
If you go to the redeem codes section under your Bungie profile, it tells you further information will be released at a later date next to each code you have entered.
