Well, though its a nice sentiment in general the fact is to ignore your fanbase makes it hard to sell future games. They are in a competative industry where they depend on their customers to buy the product. You make a product people don't like and they wont want to buy stuff from you in the future. Flipping off the fanbase can only be done as long as your product is good enough to support the act.
What is wrong with this site recently. Double post.
Life stinks. Thats why I play games. If games start resembling life, or artsy movies where depression rules then I have no need/desire to play the games anymore.
You can have death in a game Halo Reach and even Dragon Age 1 (yes my character died and I was OK with it) or a movie "Gladiator". But it has to be done right.
They could have DLC where you have to replay or load a previous save. Didn't Gears 3 have SP DLC and that definitly came to an end.
I'm not sure how this supposed "plot" is working out so well.
-The game is already dropping in price (which wouldnt happen yet if it was as good as it could be)
-Its getting terrible word of mouth (from the people who actually didn't like the ending and the people that just hate paying for product)
-If I get to the end and really hate it as much as some other people... I am not petitioning for more DLC, I am shoving it on th...
Really? I have always Played the Role of the commander Sheppard of my choice...and its a game....
Yeah, I am kind of hoping my expecting it to be bad will cause me to be pleasantly surprised, or at least not horribly disappointed since I am expecting it. (wisdom of insecurity)
Yet I still wont just read it and find out, I just dance around all of these stories so I am getting a sense of what it is and forming ideas in my head of what it is, but not actually knowing what it is. Can it be worse then I am imagining? We will see.
They say any publicity is good publicity but I am not sure that is always true. If you have never played the series before and you were thinking of picking it up, not only will you feel like you missed a lot not playing the first two but now people on metacritic are rating it really low so you may get the impression the game just stinks.
Of course if they didn't see the users reviews, go to the forums, or talk to anyone badmouthing it, then the 10/10 critic reviews will g...
Yeah whats up with that. We had a team doing really well and right near the end of wave 10 our leader quits. I HOPE his house lost power or something and that there was a actual reason he quit, not just because his Vanguard was dieing in bad places and me and the other Sentinel couldnt get to him. (our 4th had quit in wave 6). Still we had already completed objective in 10 just mop up and then extraction....
Movies also screen the ending in front of test audiences and if it stinks they will often rework it. I wonder if games do that when the do testing?
I didn't buy anything in Jan/Feb because I still had Skyrim and was waiting on ME3. Next month is prototype and the next is ghost recon. Sometimes your just going to have down months.
I havent seen the end so I will have to judge later. But if they stuck and end on there "just to get people talking" that does NOT bode well. I would think you would end it, because it is the proper end to the story that is consistant with the series not to simply "get people talking". Also if the ending is really bad, whos going to want to play any more games based in the universe.
I am loving the game so far but endings can make or break games. Now mayb...
I have not yet finished the game, but at this point I would give it a 10/10 its hitting all the right notes and doing good fan service to the two previous games. We will see if this continues however.
So they had 6 in ME1, tried 12 in ME2 but realized that was way too many to get people the dialogue they wanted and settled on 7 in ME3 (seems like a reasonable compromise considering many people thought ME1 > ME2).
As for new characters, this is the last episode of a trilogy. There should NOT be that many new characters.
Ep. 1 is for setting up main plot and introducing the main characters (Star Wars).
Ep. 2 is for advancing character developme...
What was lackluster about the ME2 ending?
Mine worked, so I am happy.
I was going to say import your ME2 saves but it looks like they are talking MP.
Picking it up at lunch when I go out to vote.
Funny, click "all this user's reviews" and you can see a lot of these guys reviewed just this one game, multiple times. If the rant starts off level headed I will read it, but most of these people are just angry beavers.
I am playing as much a "role" as I play in any computer "role playing game" and far more of a "role" then in any JRPG.
Now if your saying no computer game is an actual RPG then I agree. Otherwise you are always just "manipulating" a game character and this game is as good, or better, then others.
