You pissed off some console fanboys there. Listen up fanboys. Most Consoles are based on last-gen PC tech. That's fact. That's not to say that console games sucks because of this fact. Here's a history lesson.
Xbox (circa 2001)
Processor: Intel 733 MHz CPU
Graphics: Geforce MX (loosely a Geforce 3/4 hybrid)
64MB RAM Unified
Playstation 2 (circa 2001)

BLOGSPOT. <---should be a clear sign to stay away.
What's wrong with you guys today? Amazon's listings always change. You guys should be better than this. Last week could be teletubbies, this week could be PS3, next week could be McDonalds plush Big-Macs.
*facepalm*
I know that my 8800GT and I have a catalog of games to play. Having a DX11 card sooner will help me replay those games easier.
Also, people like me are early birds as well. I know I just want a DX11 card just to have it. I do realize how that can be a bad thing too because I was also one of those people that bought a 8800GTS 320MB a month before the 8800GT was confirmed.
Just saying though....=D
That's quite a spin from Nvidia. And I like how AMD-ATI answered back. :)
I have similar specs to you (check bio), and it's not a case of "unoptimized" or anything. A game like ArmA is really that demanding and any sort of 'optimization' would mean a lesser-experience.
Games like Crysis wouldn't be the behemoths that they are if they were "optimized" in any way.
Yes, you got a point. Free is good!
I'm no ATI-Fanboy, but doesn't AMD-ATI have a licensing agreement with Havox? It's not all that bad. I just looked at the Batman:AA Physx demo and I'm going to need more convincing than some papers or smoke to really sell me. *remembers CellFactor demo fondly*.

Woo!
Who doesn't like a free meal?
I agree that sales do matter when it comes to prolonging games that we do like. But as far as I see, we are not responsible enough to discuss sales maturely. At least on N4G that is.
I have to admit, I expected a lesser response. You surprised me. I hope you see where I'm coming from.
Why does it matter if a game sells well or not? We're gamers, not businessmen. I don't care about is whether or not developers meet their quota. I don't care if a game gets some arbitrary GotY award. I don't care if Sony's advertisement is getting better. All I care about is what games I like and how soon I can play them.
The fact that most of that list is comprised of PS3 games and *rolls eyes* Halo 3 ODST reeks of fanboy-bait.
A gamer knows a good game when he sees it, regardless of console preference.
Wireless N was just ratified a week ago. Microsoft is pretty quick on the ball if you ask me to bring out a standardized Wireless N Adapter in such a short time.
I respect your opiniOn. I only hope that you don't try to forcefeeD your opinion to other people on other "certain gameS" out There.
Multi-Console Owner FTW! (The user, and myself as a PS360-PC Owner!)
I put off getting Dirt 2 because I want to see how DX11 will be implemented. Although to be a technical nut, it's AMD-ATI now.
I like the way Dorje handles himself. I agree with his sentiments about Video Games. They're just one way to express oneself because it's better to run people over in simulation, than reality which is akin to the "For me, that's very skilful because when I do that I don't have to go and hit anyone over the head." comment. The good saying goes "to transcend violence, one must first understand it". As a Buddhist myself, I believe exactly what he does.
We're just...
I agree.
I hope the one I saw wasn't from "Toei Animation". Otherwise....
While I do agree that Crysis at 19x10 speaks very large volumes versus 12x7. You gotta admit that it's pretty impressive for a "console" to pull that off. I was definitely impressed not by the hardware, but the new techniques used to pull it off.
C'mon, you gotta admit the concept of deferred rendering is what we need to really push multithreading forward in gaming.
