The reason I used the E32k6 trailer is because that was the trailer that got the world hyped for Halo 3 with awesomeness. Then the Halo 3 MP Beta rolled out and the world screamed "Halo 2 HD". Yeah, it used the same engine but the difference in quality was drastic as the months rolled on.

I've heard THAT one before. Just because a game uses the in-game engine doesn't mean that we can expect that level of quality throughout the game.

Yeah, I agree with you. Looking at the DX11 results: just watch this CPU benchies flatline with each other.
One idea that comes to mind is Larrabee. A CPU+GPU combo can allow for GPU to offload some of its tasks to the CPU like tessellation (hypothetically) mainly because the two chips would be on the same controller and therefore reduce latency between devices greatly which can theoretically improve performance and quality overall.

I base my purchasing decisions on the game's offline features, like split-screen and LAN. I don't want a one-trick online pony. No one here (hopefully) can deny the amount of fun that's to be had from a 16 player Halo LAN fest. Especially with Split-screen.

I gotta agree. AssCreed 2 installed for less than 6GB on the HDD. And we know now that the new DLC will be 1GB. Is there a reason why those 1GB couldn't be added onto the disc?
