It's really like a second launch or what the initial launch should have been. So many consoles were selling online for well over sticker price ($2000) because of the low stock.

The reasoning Super Secret said they removed it makes perfect sense. It's a gaming console and people buying it solely for non-gaming reasons were simply wasting sonys money (selling at a loss). I never tried it and probably never will but it's nice that they aren't stripping all consoles because of the misuse that was and is going on. It basically lower their game attach rate which makes their user base look like they don't buy as many games as the competitors user base.

This article was written as though the autor had already given up all hope for M$. There's plenty of things M$ could do to make their system more appealing yet he only mentions games, not only that, "exclusive" games. That's not where M$ has ever tried to fight Sony so I doubt they'd take that course anyway.

Many members of "the 360 fanbase" are now buying PS3s, many actually waiting on the Slim, as now finally seems like a good time to check the console out for them, I guess.

The fan is HUGE! It's also the quietest one too, that's crazy. Seeing that big ass fan removed any doubt (no matter how small) I had in the Slims reliability. I mean I know this is Sony and they do their homework but have to admit i was a little concerned.
Without the fan setup they could get this down to half it's girth.
