Strange view to have imo. Say you only want to play for the story, ignoring all of the other awesome content it has at endgame. The story alone is well worth the monthly sub + initial purchase price to get to shadowbringers. You can then simply resub when new main story quests are added, or return during free play time periods. If youre a fan of FF or good stories in general, its worth it man :)

The ones on PS3 are just directly emulated PS1 classics. The versions on PS4 are basically ported PC versions with full trophy support and HD menu's amongst other things. I don't think people would be too happy with another emulated PS1 version on PS4 when its already on PS3. Although 8 does have a PC port, but I think it is a pretty shabby version so maybe they aren't interested in using it again.
FFXIV is great, but it cant compare to the offline games. Its an illusion due to the nature of it being never ending essentially. but its story isn't close to the top games in the franchise. But for the content, it blows them all away, total no contest. The raids are some of the best in gaming, easy/savage and ultimate along with the primal trials are so much fun!
While I would have much preferred the same 3rd person gameplay the witcher offered, one of my 2 favorite games of all time has been deus ex and half life! So the experience can still be really enjoyable in first person. It really all comes down to its execution and how much atmosphere it can create, it cant be a first person shooter imo, but exploring through the eyes of a first person in a deep rpg world should be awesme!
I know it hasn't done too well on pc, but I think the game had great potential and could easily maintain a decent player base on console. F2P will = pay to win or a slightly greedy cash shop no doubt, but if you can legit play this for free without having to pay and just be under a grind, then yeah... nice addition for xbox and eventually ps4! TBH, Fortnite has a fantastic free to play model and I think its awesome. Download and play for free, free challenges = rewards for free, this season gives emotes, gliders and other cool effects. The battle pass is cheap, and lasts 1 season, s like 2 1/2 months. Skins are purely cosmetic, so no pay to win. Emotes and other shit like that its purely for fun. Unless you're hugely invested in FUT, I really don't think Fifa is a day 1 purchase for anybody else these days sadly :( I used to lovedcareer mode, but the mode is dead until they fix teams from lower leagues forever starting a season with tiny budgets even if you are 5 years down the road winning every top tier trophy!

It needs a great soundtrack, an immersive and well designed world, an interesting group of characters, a deep story, fun side quests we haven't seen since games like FF9 such as chocobo treasure hunting.
