Didn't really know that but thanks for pointing that out I LOVE Gears of War games, but being forced to listen to the horrible dialogue, voice acting, and story in mid game was a drag, Marcus sounds like he's suffering from throat cancer whilst reading some amature sci-fi B-movie script.
That said I don't really agree with the games inclusion on this list there are far better examples of incompetent design in games, for example the inventory in the Resident Evil g...
Half-Life 2 is almost 10 years old yet that game can still hold its own , especially in comparison to modern shooters with its suprisingly long campaign and innovative level design and physics.
Killzone was a decent game if you looked past the horrible framerate, bugs, glitches and dated look, you would notice some nice level design, but even then, the game was no classic so obviously it isn't gonna age well.
I fully agree with you man but its also worth pointing out that Sony is pi$$ poor at marketing this is no secret, the reality is when a game like Killzone 2 or even Uncharted 2 came out those games sales could be attributed to word of mouth and Internet hype. I remember the marketing for those games being almost none existent.
And its really sad, I've said this before, but a game that should have flown out the door was LBP when you look at the universal appeal of that gam...
That actually reminds me of something, does anyone remember the Wii Vitality Sensor ? wtf how was that supposed to be used in gaming ?
I think Sony should ditch this idea a peripheral that you insert in to your mouth doesn't sound all that appealing, if anything it sounds a bit gimmicki, But hey lets see what the future holds with this patent
Its not just that thats thrilling , but an open world space game, there taking a risk with a highly ambitious concept, why can't more devs be like Valve instead of pumping out copies of the same IP
The remake was a great game but calling it the best is subjective, IMO the best in the series could either go to 2, 4 or my personal favourite Code Veronica X.
Thats why I think its hilarious when ninty fans always claim Resident Evil as being the best on their systems because the reality is you could only make that assumption on just one game and even then its still highly subjective because the titles I mentioned could easily qualify as the best in the series and they were ...
RE 0 wasn't that great of a game it was ok, i'll give credit to RE: Remake which was great,.
And as for RE4 that would be a valid argument if it wasn't ported to the 360/PS3 , because honestly the only thing that made RE4 better on Gamecube were the SLIGHTLY sharper, cleaner graphics, which are now better on the HD platforms.
The whole myth that Resident Evil was better on Nintendo platforms is ludicrous seeing as the only game in the series that sto...
Yeah and the NES vesion was absolutely HORRIBLE even kojima disowned that piece of cr@p, one of the worst ports ever.
Commercial success maybe critical/fan ? not so much look at there Track record before they were purchased by Microsoft, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, DKC 1,2,3, Battletoads, Banjo Kazooie, now look at their output on the 360, mediocre, disappointing casual garbage.
Yes Kinect sports sold extremely well but do the sales of that game really make up for a price tag 400 million and 10 years of complete garbage ? What a waste of what was once a superb development house.
Microsoft bought Rare for 300 million have they actually made any game that was worthy of their price tag ?
Not really the Transformer series are huge money makers, that doesn't stop high profile critics from giving the films horrible reviews, and im talking 3's 4's 2's out of 10.
The funny thing is something that allot of fanboys are gonna be shocked to hear, Sony is also noted to have done this they threatened Gamespot after they gave RAC FTOD a 7.5.
If I was to go on Imdb or Rottentomatoes or even metacritic and see a movie rated a 7.5 I would think it's a damn great movie but, for gaming standards apparently a 7.5 is mediocre. I remember reading, I cant remember whether it was EA or Capcom, but one of them tried to prevent reviews of a game that scored ...
Whether he did or not doesn't question the possibilities of this , I mean wouldn't it surprise you that a company like Activision didn't do this.
Why is it since COD 4 every single COD game has been some copy and paste version of the last game each year, it's essentially $60 DLC , yet it it continues to score above the 9 mark ?
Yeah i've wondered why that is, on metacritic Resident Evil 6 has a 77 on the ps3 yet 66 on the 360, not that it matters because its a horrible game regardless of what platform its on.
I've also noticed that games like Bayonetta were only rated 3% less than the 360 counterpart yet that game was blasted across the net for being inferior on the PS3.
Honestly this game has been way under the radar for me,I only just heard of it a few days ago, but its great that its getting high scores, I personally love games that come out of nowhere and surprise you with how good they are, i'm definately picking this up.
Yeah of corse but do you know why this pi$$es me off beyond belief ?
When US Capcom boss Chrstian Svensson responded to criticidm he said "the company has been listening to fan feedback and has begun the process of re-evaluating how such additional game content is delivered in the future".
This was in May this year, so they KNEW this was greedy, they KNEW it put off gamers they KNEW even industry figures like Patcher condemned this , they even respo...
the main attraction of these games are the characters the only reason i bought SSBB was to play as Snake, why ? because i'm a huge MGS fan and i wanted to play as my favourite VG character, whats wrong with that ?
I'm sorry to say it but if Crash is in the game he's easily the best known character, and its not because he's gone multiplat, most people associate Crash with playstation thats what he's most famous for, same with Spyro. Sony has never really ha...
The funny thing is the majority of comments on this article has less to do with the article and more about the future of gaming , which has been an interesting read
The majority of the sales for games like RE5 and RE6 are not due to fans, most people that bought RE5 had never even played an RE game i know a ton of people that bought the game, and they never played the previous titles or any survival horror. they just saw pretty visuals and action similar to gears and bought it based on that.
Yeah i would like to see RE return to it's roots but the masses (casual frag heads) are the majority buyers of RE Capcom cares more about there i...
Even with the aiming patch it was still pretty bad, it even carried onto Killzone 3 although not as bad as 2 it was still pretty annoying, its becomes so much more apparent online.
Why is it so hard for you to accept that the vast majority of gamers had a problem with Killzone 2/3's aiming ? The fact that GG even had to release a patch for this, alone proves that the majority had a problem with it.
Theres a reason why to this day people still play COD 4 ...
