And if you knew economics then you would understand that the XBOX360 failing to sell more units in its second year (which all the "great" titles released in) than its first year is a bad thing. Coupled with the hardware failures and the failure of its online service lately, it's not fairing too well for the platform... And 2008 doesn't seem to be all that big for Microsoft's platform neither compared to Sony's.
That being said, Microsoft has already "lowered&quo...
SCE - Sony "Computer Entertainment"
I don't see why the Playstation 3 being able to play high-definition media (by default) changes anything. It's a computer entertainment system and it delivers far beyond that, DLNA, remote play, FULL DivX, HDMI 1.3, Blu-Ray, and a SLEEK media navigation interface (OS).
Microsoft is known for unreliable products, and the XBOX360 is no exception. Probably one of the worst business/engineering fiascoes of the decade (1 billion in reserve for repairs). That was the beginning of the end for the XBOX 360... We all know that they are working on their next system (and it will not include a high-definition media drive).
Well, that's if you generalize it for "gaming" in general. However in high-definition entertainment, the Wii isn't even a contender.
Very childish. I'm not too familiar with the laws and terms of that convention, but I am pretty sure that public disturbance such as that can be prosecuted by the legal system. Hopefully those "gizmodo" guys get what they deserve.
A little much? Do you know how much standalone High-Definition TV Receivers cost? This is a huge bargain.
The thing is... HD-DVD is in no way superior...
That is a pretty horrible list.
Yup, and Playstation 3 owners can play online free of charge ;)
Another one of those "digital downloads" guys. Seriously, the infrastructure in place isn't even enough to handle YOUTUBE bandwidth (hence they are going to renovate the internet infrastructure to accommodate) and they think they can handle mass downloads of HEAVY media material? HAHA
The majority of consumers don't even have internet connections fast enough to make a "digital downloads" network even work efficiently enough. You also have to take into accoun...
They did, and they aren't even using "achievements" last I understood is that they heard that people "wanted achievements" and they are working on something -similar- that will go well beyond the scope of mere achievements. Not to mention trophies as well.
Universal will sell Blu-Ray titles, maybe not exclusively but they will. There is no future growth for HD-DVD it will only decline with time from now on. And supplying a declining market is always a bad business decision.
The money's in the Blu-Ray camp, there is no money to be made with HD-DVD now, well at least, no growth possibilities.
If they're given the "ok" by the blu-ray disc association to use the technology, otherwise no go for Microsoft and Toshiba.
Achievements existed long before Microsoft entered the gaming console industry.
Well, they didn't exclude rumble for the sake of excluding it, they were stuck in a court battle with immersion on the technology use.
Maybe so, but better have done that one good act at the end than to just let everything go to hell no? :P The ends are what matter anyway anything that happened before doesn't matter.
Yoda dies, Vader pretty much saves Luke and the world before dying as well :P
Don't think HD DVD should have even showed up, waste of space if you ask me.
Name me one reliable product from Microsoft. And, I really like your 3 bubbles.
