Supporting doesn't mean that there isn't a possibility of going format neutral, in which case Blu-ray wins the same. Heck, no matter what their decision Blu-ray wins.
Architecture, they use blue lasers to read and write data rather than the red for DVDs which holds far less information.
Paramount will switch over, it's just a matter of when. There is no use in remaining with the dead format.
Well what do you expect from -windows- media player 11 sharing? Seriously :P
"Playstation 3 DivX Playback Tested (Verdict: Not As Good As the Xbox 360)"
Explain to me how DivX playback has anything to do with XviD playback and how a fully certified DivX machine is "not-as-good" as the Xbox 360 which isn't even certified. How does this bs get approved?
Just because the file type is .avi doesn't mean it was encoded using DivX, XviD, or any other supported codec.
I just used TVersity and all the "proper" Xvid/DivX/WMV files worked marvelously!
I don't think Gears of War 2 will be competition at all especially since it'll probably be guaranteed to be multiplatform (PC, XBOX360). Plus, God of War fans will buy it regardless of a FPS.
Are you serious? Inte[r]gration got approved?
Wow 5 disagrees... How does the article have anything to do with XBOX? It's clearly an attempt to stir up some things on the internet as far as the "console wars" go. This "journalist" has 0 credibility for posting an article that clearly only concerns SONY with "XBOX" as a keyword.
Fanboys you are sad.
"Monday, December 17th, 2007 at 12:00 pm in Dean and Nooch on Gaming, Mike Antonucci, Movies & DVDs, Xbox, General." - From the article itself
Xbox? Enough said. Credibility 0.
I don't see anywhere in my post where I mentioned the 360 at all.
On paper, Sony has a better lineup for 2008.
Are they going to add the feature to choose to take steroids or not? I hear it's a big thing in Major League baseball these days.
Hmmmm, I don't see how that's bad.
Indeed greatness awaits the Playstation 3.
Edit: LOL @ the Disagree, must be a great fanboy
Good stuff, can't wait to play it... exclusively on Playstation 3.
So what you're saying is that compression is the future? LOL
They are dedicated to the platform, so we'll probably get ALL of them.
You do know that not ALL Blu-Ray owners have anything to do with Playstation 3 right? Typical fanboy response you have there.
I wouldn't say "unexpected" I'm pretty sure everyone knew it was going to happen, just a matter of when.
