@Bathyj, Agree 110%.
Given what America is going through right now (That being the IRS and Govenment wiretapping scandals) I can't believe people aren't really freaking out about this, when will it end?
What's next the Government and local police agencies hit M$ up and say when need to tap into your systems?
I have absolutely nothing to hide but that damn sure doesn't mean I want you watching my every move or listening to my ...
So I got 3 disagrees and that's OK, it's certainly your right to disagree but I'm really curious as to why.
Did I offend the brand you champion or something else?
Please let us know your thought process on what Microsoft is doing and not just throw up a phantom disagree.
I'm really and truly interested in what you have to say.
Yes, Major kudos to Germany.
It's shocks me that more people in America aren't screaming about it given what the country was founded on and our constitution.
Even more surprising that an american company would be so blatant about it.
Giving Germany's History they would know, why some people are in such a hurry to be spied upon is beyond me.
IDK, this Kinet always on has so many legal ramifications I'm shocked any company would risk it, it only takes one hack job or bad employee doing something nefarious with it and you instantly have thousands if not millions of potential lawsuits.
Trampling on peoples right to privacy is pretty serious and scandalous business.
As I stated...
"I'd like to hear from the loyal Xbox fans here on N4G what they think about this all."
Well I game on my PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and my GF's Wii every now and then so I consider myself a loyal gamer first and foremost.
That said I game on my 360 mostly.
My thought on the XBone is it's a total disaster, I don't know what in the world M$ is thinking.
My major issues are these.
1. Kinect. <...
TBH I don't know who has sold more in America, Europe or the world and I couldn't care less as I don't make a dime on any system sold.
AND to clarify I said the 360 is doing fine in the rest of the world MEANING (according to the article) it's generated $2.53 billion in the third quarter, a 56 percent increase from 2012 as well as the Xbox Live division currently holds 48 million members.
Those numbers are nothing to sneeze at hence It's ...
Wow is this the only thing they can highlight over the 360 version? Is that supposed to Hype me into buying a whole new system?
BTW Mr. Developer I don't know if you realize this or not but Kinect is available on the 360 as well, there really is no reason to make voice commands XBox One exclusive ya know.
Not that I would use them anyway. ;)
This is the main problem when doing prequels years later than the original, the tech always advances and you try and shoe horn a story into what you've already shown.
In this case they have to have some sort NEW stuff to show you but that's harder to do when you go back in time (story wise) when BM had less gadgets, skills and such.
Honestly don't you expect BM to have all the cool moves and toys he has had in the past two games?
Ugghh what a waste of time, don't bother.
@Pozzle, agree 100%
When they said "Just to clarify" then by all means clarify.
They answer a question that contradicts what another M$ representative said and confuse things even more.
Question to M$: When you put a key into a car ignition and turn it what should happen.
M$ answer: Yes, the tires are black.
Who cares, It's doing fine in the rest of the world.
To celebrate we are going to make it incompatible with the XBone.
"M$'s Phil Harrison stated in an interview "Kinect and Xbox One are one and the same. They are two parts of the equation. Obviously the Kinect sensor is used for Skype, for communication, for voice recognition, gesture and motion sensing and the rest."
Ok Phil, I don't want to do any of that stuff so please tell me why I have to hook it up?
I just want to play NORMAL/KINECT FREE games so why do I even have to hook the Kinect portion up?
...
Make that good, DOH!
I guess my big this is this, why does the Kinect device have to be hooked up and always on?
Why?
Strangely my 5 year old 360 works just fine without one, isn't this supposed to be an advancement in technology?
Approved.
Pretty god.
This.
Sometimes I even get tired of the people on my friends list bugging me.
Ugghh... all PC answers.
"We will disclose more information in the near future.”
Why? answer the questions now.
Will the XBone play used games? Yes or No.
If yes will there be a fee? Yes or No.
If so how much will the fee be?
If a retail fee will M$ always track the lowest cost of a game at every online outlet and price their fee accordingly? or will it always be a set fee say $1, $5 or $30?
See how simple that ...
It doesn't bother anyone else that M$ themselves have said that they are increasing their servers from 15,000 to 300,000?
Why is that, so you can store all the Video, audio and other data you collect from me?
Do you really need 285,000 more to save my gamer tag, game saves or push me updates via the cloud?
Seems to me all that is working fine for the current 360 and your 15,000 servers.
Again, why do you need 285,000 more...
