When they announced the demo, they said it was going to be multiplayer. I suppose there's a possibility they could slip a single-player preview into it, too, though. That's what the did with the first BFBC.
I felt like the first game only took around 12-ish hours with a decent amount of exploration. They don't tag the save files with play-time, though.
Maybe people are just too focused on other big releases? ME2 and MAG are getting a lot of attention because their release is closer. Once those are out of the way, I think we'll see a spike in interest. It'd be a shame if this game didn't get any love.
Hey, Valve pulled it off. It's the exception rather than the rule on consoles, though, yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if PC gamers got some love at any rate.
I'm still hoping that it's X-Com. I mean it still could be. It could have the base-building, research, and so forth and then let you take direct control of a squad of troops on missions. That would be killer.
I'm still baffled they haven't rereleased that one on Steam.
Yeah, I like that they threw in the sneak attack at the end to say "hey, we know it's kinda rough-looking but it's got potential to do some cool stuff." Aliens seems to have an interesting setting but it's never really explained much by shooters or mixed bag of movies. An RPG would've been really something to behold.
Yep, it's a completely standalone product. This miffed a few Empire: Total War owners. Their reasoning is that it'll result in less free content being released for Empire. It's sort of a Left 4 Dead/Left 4 Dead 2 scenario.
Yep. It's an unfair criticism to lob at BioWare. They actively promote diversity in all of their games. I can only think of maybe four games that have depicted homosexual relationships ever and BioWare's made three (Jade Empire, Mass Effect and Dragon Age).
It seems like the game had been in development for less than a year when this footage was created. By that token, it's pretty impressive. Plus, knowing Obsidian's other games, the writing would've sold it even if it wasn't a technical masterpiece.
I played Thief: Deadly Shadows (the third game in the series) this summer. Really great stuff. I'm looking forward to another installment in the series.
Die in a fire.
If the PS3 beta's any indication, they'll be giving out a lot of keys through giveaways.
Yeah, it does seem like it's going to be a GTA-sized beast. Luckily that period of the year isn't very crowded with releases (yet).
I'm excited for this, too, but in more of a platonic way. The first ME is one of the reasons I bought a 360.
I'd say they should put it on the PSP Digital Comics service but I guess it doesn't make much sense if the series doesn't appear on that system.
How would you do Titan mode in a modern day setting, though? Battleships or something?
Squad-based action-based RPG, eh? Closest things that come to mind are Valkyria Chronicles or Mass Effect. They're not action RPG's but the combat does have a third-person shooter feel to it while still retaining strategy elements.
It's my understanding that AvP and AvP2 were the only good ones. There were a lot of other bad ones, like the AvP: Requiem tie-in game.
