yes, this is a win-win for both companies.
Blu-ray in a 360 will help futher push Sony's blu-ray format sales, (which have still been poor despite blu-ray victory) and yes, Sony will get paid royalties for blu-ray same way MS gets paid by Sony for royalties for Windows in SOny computers.
Of course MS is going to say no blu-ray coming because it was still many months away. It would really hurt current 360 sales and help ps3 sales if they did.

first of all, the 360 is still outselling the ps3 in America. The ps3 only sold more in jan and feb 08 due to 360 shortages.

not only does gta4 run better on 360 from a technical standpoint, but there were massive problems playing online and problems because of the mandotory install with the ps3 version.

anyways, after the 360 showed that it can take Sony's best selling franchise, GTA4, and sell millions of copies more of it and break world records, i highly doubt this game would have been exclusive to the ps3.... so i take this as another game in limbo for the 360 too.
