i think the reason you do see the kind of hype for mgs4 compared to Halo is because everyone knows MGS4 is geared towards the hardcore, Kojima even said it himself.
Halo like GTA4 has mass appeal and a much bigger fanbase.
oks, in America the 360 has outsold the ps3 every month since the ps3 launched except for jan and feb of 08 due to 360 shortages.
I dont expect May to be any different. BUT...
June will be be a different story though with the ps3 flagship blockbuster MGS4, right?

blu-ray is great. has it proven that it is needed in this generation for gaming. NO. That was just Sony forcing the next format down loyal sonyfans throat.
Instead you have a flagship game, MGS4, thats needs installs between each chapter and like 5gig of HDD space. I'd rather swap a disc, that only takes like 5-10 sec and no mandatory installs.... so what the hell is blu-ray for then? especially when you have just about every multi-plat game o...

I picked GTA4 not for graphics or gameplay but because GTA WAS the best selling franchise on PS2. The three GTA games on ps2 were on the top 4 for sales.

i own a 360 and it would be just bad-azz to put yoda against vadar, and i would assume vice-versa for ps3 owners.

Japan loves playing RPG, and as of now, the 360 has the most RPGs with some really good exclusive RPGs, and even secured some timed exclusive RPGs for this year and the next, you add the price drop with jasper this year for a reliable and very affordable (cheap) console.
What do you think MS should do? call it quits in Japan, pack it in?

Lair and Haze were hyped to the extreme by too many sonyfans on this very site, especially Lair!! Even I was curious and looking forward to see how Lair turned out.
(should be better now that the update is out or coming for manual controls)

the day you buy a 360 and NG2, then come back with an informed and educated opinion.
NG2 looks and plays better. period.
only a sonydroid will say Sigma looks better because they can't play NG2.
