good score for NG2 8.75
i trust two reviewers, IGN (also 8.75) and Game Informer.
I'm playing the game now, halfway through and the game is blazing fast with awesome finishing moves. Dont know what was all the talk about 20fps.
And it's official, PS3 finally has it's first true AAA game.
(sure did take long enough)
Also great to see battlefield got a great score. Thats my next game.
this is going to be interesting. i'm very curious to see how ps3's fist true AAA flagship game is going to sell.
We already know how MS's AAA Halo 3 did and the records it broke.
its pretty known that the casual players own a wii and the hardcore own a 360... so where does that leave ps3 when the creator himself says it's aimed at the hardcore?
being that MGS has always been aimed more towards the hardcore, i seriously doubt it can have the mass appeal like H...
I understand where your coming from about starting a new collection, but i rarely ever buy dvd's and won't be buying blu-ray either, because you can always rent them at blockbuster... and the renting blu-rays costs the same as a regular dvds.
and I agree with you, there are ZERO games at this time that can justify the purchase of a ps3 as a gaming console, but with KZ2 and GT5 on the horizon, those two games have been in development for like 4 years, so expectations are very ve...

anyways... i'm on the third chapt now, and so far i don't know how people could say 20fps. The game is incredibly fast, and the fighting is second to none, especially with the many different finishing moves.
COD5 will sell millions because it's the sequal to COD4...it's that simple. That hype alone will be enough.
It's like, when Halo 4 eventually comes out, it's gonna sell millions despite the fact that Bungie isn't developing it.
and i'm sure people will still be playing COD4, but more people will be playing COD5.

then now you know it i felt last gen when every game was ported from the gimped ps2 to the much superior Xbox.

1. the MGS franchise is NOT a Sony exclusive...it has already been on Nintendo and Xbox.
2. Konami must see how well games sell on 360, GTA4 being the perfect example. Sony best selling franchise sold much better on the 360 (almost 2 mil more) and broke all kinds of world records in the entertainment industry. For a game with such high production values, why wouldn't Konami want to milk this cash cow for all it's worth... the next MGS probably won't be coming out for 3-4 more years.

if i had the choice to swap discs which take about 10 sec or installs between each chapter for about 3 minutes each for a total of almost 5 gig HDD space required...
