I have my eye on LBP2 and Dead Space 2. I already own ME2 on PC, and although it is tempting to get it for all the DLC and the console experience, I sure as heck am not getting it at $59.99.
As for LBP2 and Dead Space 2, well I promised myself I would limit my game purchases for the sake of time. I would rather invest the same amount of time in a fewer quantity of games. I would rather play to pieces LBP2 then just play through the story, and then forget about it.
...
Yeah I guarantee it too...
No you didn't...
Exactly why I never got into it...
Here is a really simple rule: Don't do the stupid achievements/trophies! For people like me who like to play through a game, grab as many collectibles as possible, and explore every area, your total achievement/trophy count should be roughly 75%. The remaining 25% would be beating it on harder difficulty or maybe beating a specific enemy in a unique way.
Developers who don't do this, I don't bother to 100%/Plat a game. No, I am not going to play Demon Souls 4 ...
Wow, I just got really excited for this game! Is it February yet...?
I too got it on Steam for $5. While the concept is great, it got boring too fast due to the lack of multiplayer. Torchlight 2 on the other hand is looking promising.
Xbox owners, save some money and enjoy it on Steam.
PS+ has paid for itself so far, but I don't know if I'd resub after my 15-months is up. A lot of the stuff I have gotten has been stuff I am interested, but not necessarily worthy of purchase. I am faithful about the remaining months of my subscription, but I feel like they should cater more to the specific individual rather than one group in general.
Castle crashers is amazing. Downloadable games just have a certain charm to them... :)
You are a sheep towards BC2 then...
People use the term sheep too liberally on N4G.
Sigh...
@BlackBoiJones
Dang dude, grats. Can you please elaborate on your Christmas after party? I wanna know how cool you truly are!
Yeah, I don't know if this score is critiquing the PSN game or the actually game of darts.. heh.
Solid game and solid buy. I got it when Amazon had a Gold Box event for $25. I actually had a $20 credit from Amazon so I ended up getting this game for $5 :)
Character development was great, acting was great, story was solid and kept me wanting to find out more. Sometimes the camera and combat became annoying, but overall solid game!
Patch fixed everything though.
Wow, this is a great deal... wasn't going to pick this up, but now I might!
That Valkyria Chronicles II deal is too good to pass up. I know I told myself I am not going to buy anymore games for awhile until a dwindle down this nice stack of games but man, 60% off.... :)
@Andrew
"it is still the same generic shoot this guy, move here, shoot some more, blow this up"
You can show that type of condescending attitude toward any video game genre. Sports games, RPGs, Action games, etc.
Let me know some of your favorite games so I can make fun of them...
But the interface, controls, are just so much easier on a PC.
Typing, hotkeys to different areas of the interface (map, skills, traits, etc)
I agree with yall that sitting on your couch is nice, but man, it is such a pain sometimes to navigate it on the ps3. It is fun on the ps3, I'm just saying the better experience will be on the PC.
MMOs are meant to be played on PC.
The must haves for me these year - and I mean MUST haves, there are plenty of excellent games besides my MUST haves - are LBP2, Killzone 3, Portal 2, ICO Collection, Uncharted 3, and Mass Effect 3.
I'm pretty much looking forward to all of the good games releasing, but if I could only pick six, it would be those six :)
