N4G, such a friendly community. Can't even say I think a game is great without having crybabies saying "You're not allowed to like this game. The internet hates it, which is why I hate it, and why you must hate it too". It worked on me with MW2, I hated that game before I played it, then I enjoyed it a lot when I did, but I still hated it... Then I realised I had more fun with MW2 than any other game in 2009, which was previously held by Demon's Souls and Infamous.

I find it really hard to believe you even played it. I think the multiplayer is the best in the series so far, the co-op is really fun with both missions and survival, and so far the campaign is good.

The maps are good IMO. There are barely any campers, they don't feel as staged and you can use them all in survival mode. Spawnkilling is an issue, but you can respawn a second after dying (TDM) so I don't care that much.

Just got MW3, and I wouldn't put it on this list. Great game so far.

The Souls games aren't THAT hard. There are are few areas and boss battles that annoy me (Four Kings and Tomb of the Giants for example), but most of it is medium difficulty. I find the God of War games harder (on high difficulty). I'm guessing you either haven't played it, you suck or just got annoyed by it (which is understandable).

I want them both to make a game.

Skyrim was/is my most anticipated GOTY (haven't played it yet), but Dark Souls is fantastic IMO.

It's a different kind of hard. Ninja Gaiden requires fast reflexes, whereas Dark Souls requires patience, and sometimes trial and error. Did you beat The Four Kings? That was pretty hard, especially with phanto...

I expected Dark Souls to win from Gamespot since they gave it a higher score and gave Demon's Souls GOTY.

So now the only people that care about stats are campers? Pathetic excuse. Campers aren't the only ones that care about stats. Having only one account max helps no-one, so I have no idea why you're defending it.

I hate you PS fanboys. Always defending Sony for everything they do bad, and even make it sound like a good thing.

Reducing accounts from 5 to 2 Consoles- "People that downloaded things on more than 2 PS3's were no better than pirates". Sorry for buying more than 2 PS3's...

Combine those two. you need get a second online pass to play MP on any more...

I think we need to see gameplay of TLOU before we get excited. For all we know it could be a puzzle game where you need to complete a puzzle to see the next cutscene.

Look at everyone above wanting their own favourite GOTY to win (which isn't Skyrim)... and the only thing they can say against Skyrim is the bugs that will be patched. The PS3 issues will be fixed, and most of the other 'problems' are funny ( such as being bashed to the sky).

U3 will probably win my multiplayer GOTY. Since i'm a fan of CoD, MW3 might take it but Uncharted 3 has some of the best MP iv'e played this gen, and I didn't even like U2's.

What hate? Apart from a few trolls giving it 4/10, it's a highly praised game.

I'm not convinced. Everywhere I read about it, it says you can only use it on one account. the BF:BC2 ultimate edition's online pass only worked on one account too. Maybe it's just on PS3.

But what if someone else (friend or family) wants to play BF3 on your console? BF3's online pass restricts you to one account, which means they have to buy an online pass just so they can play on a different account. So if you buy it new, you're still getting punished.

Handling and sound is arguable, but the weapons themselves were standard military guns. Not that they shouldn't be, since BF3 is semi-realistic, but games like Resistance 3 and Bulletstorm (forgot about that game) had some creativity. I personally prefer the weapon handling from R3 and MW3 (BF3 has a little bit too much recoil for me, I thought BC2 had the perfect amount). BF3 had better sound quality no doubt, but I prefered the unrealistic sounds of R3.

Battlefield 3 beat Crysis 2 in best campaign... It would be nice to say it was below average at best IMO (the BF3 campaign). And how did BF3 win in best weapons? That should have gone to Resistance 3. overall I think the internet is biased towards Battlefield in terms of shooters.

And I don't know if Deus Ex should should be on this list, you don't even have to use guns outside of boss battles.

I haven't played MW3, but since this is the console version we're talking about, the graphics for BF3 are bad. It has some descent textures, but everything else looks horrible. Go to the end of Operation Guillotine when that guy sits at the computer. Crouch and look at him. Funny stuff... Seriously, do it.
