The first map pack for Black Ops was 1.6 GB. That's too big to be an unlock code. You must be thinking of Capcom.
Weren't you people just lining up for old BF2 maps with better textures? That was fine wasn't it? But as soon as MW3 recycles a building (which looks very different and a lot better), it's considered a crime. Hypocrates.
It's casual because it's easy to play? Pathetic. Truly pathetic. Notice how CoD is the only one to get bashed for this? It doesn't come across your mind when it comes to Uncharted, GTA, Mario, Gears, Half-life, God of war or many others does it? Why does it need to get bashed for this anyway? What, do you want it to take hours of getting used to just so you can be OK at it? Is that fun? NO. And before you inevitably say "but it should change since it sells well", each n...
I'm guessing that you didn't even read the review. You're just another hater that like's to see COD getting a bad score. Just like most people on this site.
Morrowind's map is only 0.01% the size Daggerfall? It could take years to walk from one end to the other.
On N4G you would be murdered for saying any of that with any seriousness, even if they did that. They have done worse things over the last few months (PSN pass AND 2 PS3's per account. Sony: "want to play MP for the game you payed for on that third PS3? tough") that Sony fanboys tried to spin as a good thing.
"running back to mobs and again dying and repeat for a looong time IF you're only looking to have fun." Sounds like you played it like an action game. That's the type of person that hates the game. It isn't really a fun game, it isn't trying to be. I don't know about others that enjoyed the game, but I liked it for it's sense of progression. Every new area you visit, upgrading and modifying your weapons, killing a boss battle you spent all day dying on and fi...
When I say average I mean nothing special. I still enjoyed the SP, especially the airplane crash, chetau and some of the cutscenes. It's just that some of the shooting parts were tedious (hard mode), some of them dragged on for a bit too long. It might not sound like much, but these parts stopped it from being the best GOTY IMO.
I'm disappointed that it won best PS3 game from everywhere, when Infamous 2 deserved AT LEAST some of them. It did a lot of things better, su...
On most major gaming websites MW3 wasn't very hyped at all. The internet has too much hate for COD for it to be hyped. Everyone knew it would be samey from the first gameplay video, which is another reason it wasn't very hyped.
Infamous 2 deserved more awards than it got (if any). I would say it's a better game than Uncharted 3, heck I would even say that apart from a few setpieces and cutscenes, U3 was average (SP wise). It's my MP GOTY so that makes it my 2nd favourite PS3 exclusive (of 2011), but it's also one of the most overrated.
The best thing from Sony was Infamous 2 IMO. The worst thing would be the 5 to 2 PS3's per account. It's annoying not being able to play U3 MP on all 3 of our PS3's.
I don't have a 360, but Batman above Dark Souls? It's their opinion but I got Dark Souls, played it for 27 hours in the first week, then got Batman. I thought "It's pretty good" then went back to beat DS, which took another 50 hours, then I finally beat Batman. IMO it was OK, but Dark Souls was much better, I played it for 174 hours (last 10 hours were spent collecting rocks) which makes it my most played game yet.
Wow... I didn't expect you to read that...
Not being able to go left was fine, but unlike Morrowind, you couldn't climb mountains. That made it feel more linear and smaller than Morrowind and the other Bethesda games. Later on there was a camp that had a view of Vegas, but the path was blocked by Deathclaws... Then you were told that you had to go back around another mountain.
Agreed. I hated New Vegas. Walk left from the first town in the game for a minute and you get mowed down by Radscorpions. That's just terrible world design. In the first town you also meet at least two characters recycled from F3, these were main characters in F3.
I don't blame Obsidian, I blame the short development time. At least they tried to make it a bit different to F3 with the new karma system and other things I forgot, but the reused textures, character models...
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite would be my #1. I put over 70 hours into it... Then my memory stick corrupted (worst memory cards ever). I'm looking foward to Dragon's Dogma, it looks like a next-gen MH.
Does the final mission count? If so then I would put that as the best in the game.
MW2 had a better campaign and spec-ops missions, but the multiplayer was the most unbalanced thing iv'e ever played, even if I played it for 30 hours.
I could argue about why I THINK MW3 is better, but I can't be bothered. I'll just say that I played lots of COD4, MW2, Black Ops and a bit of WAW, so I know what i'm talking about.
I'm getting sick of the bullet-sponges. They were OK up until they gave them more armour on the boat.
I think Sledgehammer and the remainder of Infinity Ward are doing a good job. MW3 is much more balanced than MW2.
Agreed. I thought it was good at first, then it got repetitive after a few days.
