@magog - There weren't any Jak & Daxter games after the PS2 & PSP (not counting the remasters). Jak 1 is possibly my favourite 3D platformer of all time, but the sequels went heavier on combat and driving. Ratchet And Clank is usually a great hybrid of action and platforming, but it doesn't excel at platforming on it's own.
@badz - Same as above. Ratchet has more than serviceable platforming, but it wouldn't carry the game on its own. A Crack in Time...
Yeah but find me a better 3D platformer on the PS3 and PS4 than Psychonauts 2. There's just some things that were done better back then.
The story was good until it ended on a cliff hanger, I wouldn't call it incredible. The gameplay was dreadful. I would like to see an improved sequel however.
I think Psychonauts 2 is getting shafted in the awards. The Game Awards even seemed to drop the best platformer category, despite listing it before the show, which it would have been the frontrunner for.
I don't think anyone minds spoilers for PS1 games these days, it's fine.
"Real art", as though anyone can define such a thing. I don't think subtlety is a strict requirement. The existence of metaphors and symbolism in art can often come down to the interpretation of its viewers, even when it's not intended by the creator. Silent Hill 2 possibly has the best story in horror games, but Psychonauts 2 couldn't tell a story in the same way.

@Axel - Thanks for stating the obvious. The games aren't technically free. But you don't pay for them directly, you don't own them, and you have no say over which ones go to the service. But that's not the point, I'm arguing against the "BUT ITS FREE, TRY IT OR ELSE UR DUMB!" stance.
There's so many games on these services that the vast majority of people won't have time to give all of them a proper go... And half of a mediocre game lik...
Money isn't the only cost, the question here is whether it's worth putting any real time into. With things like PS+ and Game Pass, being free doesn't make it worth playing as there's plenty of options.
Weird that the best platformer category got forgotten, when it was confirmed to exist before the show... I thought for sure that was where Psychonauts 2 would win.
Hardly anyone called the first game a walking simulator, and anyone who did rightfully got shut down pretty hard. If anything it's the PlayStation fanboys that have switched stances now that the sequel is an Xbox exclusive.
I trust Quantic Dream to make a great story... Hopefully this has proper gameplay, because that's the one aspect stopping these guys from being up there with Naughty Dog.
This looks incredible. I'm sure the combat and puzzles will be fine, the first game was fairly good in those departments.
No, I didn't see that coming, this looks pretty great.
Because the Halo Infinite beta is essentially the full game, it's really only a beta in name. I guess what the voters played has impressed them enough for their vote, and if the campaign is as good as the reviews have said, then that only reinforces its position.
There'll be a lot of hype playing into this result, no doubt.
I guess that makes Lego DC Super Villains the only proper game this month.
Did he review the campaign by itself? I know IGN gave Halo 5 a 9, which I would probably agree with as the multiplayer was fantastic.
Indeed, this is a dangerous precedent. Just give us a different game if Gearbox/2K didn't want to actually give us Godfall.
I swear cosmic red is just a different shade of pink. The new colours are nice, I'm just hoping they make a PS1 themed controller.
