Or maybe it got mediocre reviews because it was a mediocre game?

Not sure why everyone on here seems to think Horizon was a masterpiece. As I've said, the first few hours were terrible, and the facial animations were on par with Mass Effect Andromeda. Even at its best, it was good, not great. It didn't do much more than something like Far Cry or Assassin's Creed.

Even if you didn't like its slow paced nature, Zelda pushed the envelope on what open world games can be. The exploration was second to none. It had problems of ...

Why? The first few hours were terrible, and the facial animations were as bad as that of Mass Effect Andromeda. Even at its best it was only good, not great.

It wasn't even the best PS4 exclusive of the year, Persona 5 was better.

It seems as though he's working on something cloud based, possibly a horror game. I wonder if the cloud stuff would be used for what was talked about for Silent Hills, where they were thinking about features such as allowing the game to manipulate your phone, or messing with the light bulbs in your actual house.

No idea if the cloud would help with things like that, but I thought it sounded cool anyway.

Not really, I was too busy thinking "Oh, they're going in this direction then"

The tensest I've played was between Mass Effect 2's suicide mission, and the lead in to the end of Outer Wilds.

"Only one of them end up with a more lasting impression" - You what? God of War only came out a week ago, how could you be sure of that?

I would argue Elden Ring is miles better. The exploration is the biggest gap between them. The amount of invisible walls blocking Kratos from otherwise clearly accessable chests in order to enable puzzles feels ancient now. It works well enough, sure, but in comparison to Elden Ring's exploration? No contest.

The Vita didn't start off strong, that's why it didn't get great support after launch. It was the overpriced proprietary memory cards that killed it.

Halo 4 has one of the best campaigns in the series in my opinion. The multiplayer was a bad direction for Halo, but I think it was decent in its own right.

I played it and I like platformers. I wasn't a fan, all it did was make me miss Littlebigplanet.

Yeah, I've unsubscribed. I just haven't been at all engaged with Xbox for the last two years. Game Pass is good value, but the lack of exclusives hurts it. As odd as it may sound, Crackdown 3 has been the only Xbox exclusive I've genuinely liked over the last 5 years. Halo and Gears haven't been good enough for a while, and I'm not into driving games. It doesn't help that the UI and controller are virtually the same as they were on the Xbox One, making the new consoles...

"Masterclass in storytelling" How there's a large group of people who genuinely believe this is beyond me. I couldn't even put this down to Playstation fanboys overhyping their games, because many of that crowd also hated it.

That part early on where Ellie gets knocked out for the second time in the span of a few in game hours, only to again not be killed, and instead restrained and interrogated... Then in the most comical fashion, Dina, someone who shoul...

There's plenty of good explanations as to why people hated the story, you just choose to dismiss them.

What on earth is that price... That translates to about $350 NZD. That's ridiculous. Looks good though I guess.

It probably wouldn't be Fallout 5, but I would like to see them have enough time to make a proper spin off. They're a bit busy though with Avowed and Outer Worlds 2 still early in development.

I tried Destiny 2 on PC at both 60 and 120fps... It was only a slightly noticeable difference. I don't think it's necessary unless you're you're looking to compete.

Seems like it's more trouble than it's worth. It's not like having camera cuts is a bad thing.

Yes, but it seems very underwhelming so far compared to Star Citizen.

I saw a half hour YouTube video going over all the planets in the game by LevelCapGaming a few months ago. I was consistently amazed by what I saw, the scale and atmosphere is outstanding.

I don't think it's a scam, it's just a bigger project than any sane development team would take on. It looks a few hundred million dollars more impressive than what we've seen of Starfield.

If the beta's anything to go by... It pales in comparison to the original MW games. It's somehow even more mindless than MW2 2009 while having more realistic animations and recoil, it's a weird mix that doesn't work for me. The maps in this beta are terrible, as was the case with MW2019. As a result the spawn points are terrible, and the matches have poor structure.
