Pirates don't give back to Microsoft or the developers/publishers, the console producers make most of their money on software. If these pirates are bypassing the traditional form of payment to get things for free why let them go on?
I also have to question the sanity of someone who defends software pirates by putting some ridiculous conspiracy theory over it.
So what if Treyarch made it? Can't they make good games?
The "DRM" killed it, they should have kept it solely GFWL but they had to put in that stupid Rockstar Social Club which was a complete nightmare...
Only now have I realized how ridiculous those NVG's look!
Games for Windows is a service, Microsoft gives developers something (advertising, development help, etc) in return for royalties. Games for Windows Live is required to run GTA IV. It's free for the end user but previously some items were Gold exclusive (cross platform play, multiplayer achievements, etc).
GFWL isn't a common enforced platform but Games for Windows is a more common and enforced one.
Yes that's what I said, to run Windows you need hardware with a x86 (PC) architecture.
Edit: Also, I said Windows is a Microsoft platform.
Games for Windows Live inturn Windows, which is needed to run GTA 4 on PC is a Microsoft platform.
I wouldn't mind a PC release, I bought TLAD on 360 but was able to snag GTA IV on PC for $20 a few weeks ago!
For the time, the first Halo was pretty M territory, the amount swearing, blood, etc. Not to mention corpses mutating right in front of you!
This is only a prediction, it could have sold more or less, plus this is only US mind you.
I find it funny how people here try to defend the pirates or claim this is a Microsoft scam.
If you guys like playing with hackers, pirates, etc then by all means go ahead. But Xbox Live is a PAID service and has to guarantee SOME level of quality which can be achieved by banning those who don't play nice.
Stardock is iffy, they claim to support the Gamers Bill of Rights yet stuff on Impulse has DRM!
There are plenty of smaller devs out their who still support the PC, the Tropico guys, the ARMA people, etc.
I haven't played a Ratchet and Clank game in ages, might give this one a go if I can.
We don't get Hulu in Canada. :(
But we do get TV shows and some movies streamed through channel providers via their websites which isn't that bad, just a hassle to get running, find your shows, etc.
I've never setup a server or anything, I always go half way with Windows Media Center on 360, never get around to plugins and the like! :P
Western games are an odd one, they stay dormant for a few years but when they come back they come back in force!
XBL is free, it's Gold that costs money dude, also, why would you want Home? That's such a niche thing that a fragment of the gaming audience would be into. I think you're forgetting Achievements were the first to standardize such rewards on consoles, maybe even PC.
You can run a browser on an Xbox 360 via Windows Media Center, infact, you can even get a plugin to stream videos from Youtube, Vimeo, Daily Motion, etc all for free.
No don't say that! Millions of fanboys will have to explain to you that DLC is not compensation for a full game!....
Oh please, without Activision Infinity Ward would be nothing, infact, without Call of Duty they would be nothing! You can sure as hell bet if IW leaves the franchise won't be going with them. Treyarch proved with World at War that they too could make a pretty good game that sells just as well as what Infinity Ward did with 4.
That being said, this image is literally a grain of salt, it could mean anything or could have been put in by mistake.
