n4gn4gn4g: Saying something "Faces" a recall can means it was recalled or is on the verge of being recalled. All official organizations that have done polls on the Xbox 360 failure rate have put it under 50% as over 50% is needed for a recall to be explored by most companies. The ones that did put it at over 50% were simply site user polls which were subject to much controversy.
Godmars: I didn't say anything about the warranty. A recall isn't always a feasible thing ...
lol, it even has a Wiki entry.

It would be pretty hard to hide a "kill switch" especially in this day and age where people would hack just about anything, including you watch! Funny Urban Legend, but I think that is all.
It's easier for Blizzard to subsidize the trials than it is other companies, especially those MMO companies who don't have a very high install base.
This is also on the PC, charging PC gamers for content already installed to their harddrives is funny.
What about for those gamers who don't have access to Live, a internet connection, etc on their console or PC? Just because they give those who buy the game from stores a unlock code doesn't make it OK to do this since there are people who will still be buying it for a variety of reasons.
Edit: To all the disagrees, what if you are a gamer who can't afford to bu...
When was the Xbox 360 recalled?
You are right, as magazine scans are the pinnacle of quality it is quite clear that the game simply looks graphically inferior to XXXXXX.
The game looks great, even from those low quality scans, I don't know why everyone is badmouthing the graphics. On their own merits alone they look miles better than those of Halo 3/ODST.
Sometimes I wonder why Patcher makes the statements he does, Kotaku usually does an report to see how right the analysts were in the previous year, will be interesting to see what 2009 was like.
Patcher also claimed Epic couldn't "wait to go multiplatform". Funny, I thought Unreal Tournament III was multiplatform! And look at how well that did, it did sell anywhere near what the other UT games did, even the online community has taken a hit. Even the crazy Steam sales ...
Haven't had any issues with the console I play on either, just because you don't have an issue with your PS3 doesn't mean no one else will.
If I had a dollar for everytime someone said the "Macs are XXXX" I'd be rich!
Do you have malware protection on your system? And if so, what kind?
How? This issue is present in ALL 32 bit Windows OS's that have the effect kernel, that includes Windows 7.
It's being patched anyway in all versions of Windows still supported by Microsoft. (XP, Vista, 7, etc)
If you have a 64 bit system this won't even affect you, even if you have Windows 7.
I've switched over to 64 bit with Vista, haven't looked back since.
A good chunk of 32 Bit software was affected by this, including Vista.

The bug itself was only found yesterday by a Google employee, its been in the system for 17 years but no one knew about it. :P
Keep in mind that this estimate won't apply to the masses since not everyone plays a game for long periods of time in a day, doesn't die, etc. I think for many people it will take over 10 hours to beat the game on normal difficulty levels.
Edit: Below: Some of the previous God of War games had cool stuff to unlock so I'm sure 3 will as well.
While I completely disagree with his comment (God of War is an insanely awesome experince!), I don't see how that is open zone material, he simply said he didn't like the game, albeit using different words.
The purpose of T Bagging in a game is so the person you killed would get pissed off over what you did, insult to injury if you will. If no method exists for the person to see said act in progress there is no point in doing it. That being said, some people still do tbag in COD games but you have to be careful since it will only take 2 or 3 shots to kill you while you're trying to do the do hence why it isn't as popular.
Yea I think the artstyle really helped change things, had it looked like it originally did perhaps it would have been turned off from it.
Plus some of the humor is just made better with it! (like 9 Fingers :P)
The digital numbers are interesting, I guess the digital market isn't as big as originally thought since Borderlands was selling pretty well on Steam, D2D, etc.
Not bad, the Asura engine has been pretty scalable in the past, I just hope they fix those damn framerate issues present in Shellshock 2 and Rouge Warrior! (which both use the same engine as AVP) Graphically the engine looks great, they just haven't optimized it well for even consoles!
It probably won't remain at the #1 spot unless something really bad happens to Reach but it will definitely stay in the top 10 for a while. Forge, Theater mode, etc are two primary reasons as to why people keep coming back to Halo 3.
It topped in the UK IIRC at #5, its done well in Japan as well.
Keep in mind that not much is being shown on the screen, you might not get the same level of visuals if you had a intense Gears of War or Unreal Tournament moment for instance.
