hero: That scene isn't a great representation of the graphics, I guess the video also has something to do with it. A lot of the other stuff they've shown looks great.

ikkweer: Ah I see your point, I think I may have replied to the wrong comment but the more space = better graphics thing has been said a few times in this thread.

This brings back memories of Indigo Prophecy. :P

For me personally the draw to Indigo Prophecy was not the gameplay but the story telling, I felt really involved with the characters and their situation which is why I kept coming back to the game. I don't know if Heavy Rain will do the same but here's hoping.

It was always announced as PS3 exclusive but there was a shareholder meeting in 2006 I think where it was hinted that the game might be multiplatform.

This.

I hate getting my control all oily, powdered, etc but I might have something to drink while I'm gaming.

ikkeweer: For gaming more disc space does not mean better graphics persay, it will obviously give you better quality textures but nothing that would turn Dragon Age: Origins into Crysis for instance. It also depends a lot on processing power, if your game hiccups you might want to remove details, compress, etc.

What else would you expect them to say during the format war?

Before profile 2.0 became mainstream for Blu Ray I can see what they mean since a selling point for HD DVD was the advanced interactivity, Blu Ray really only had the storage space at the point. They were probably also talking about HDi in comparison to Java, both had their ups and downs but I liked HDi better.

Now however profile 2.0 is basically adopted by everyone so the story is different, best of ...

That's why they are a member of the BDA and Windows has BD support...right?

It would be useless to bring Blu Ray to the Xbox 360 because,

1. You can't do a internal drive
2. You can't put games on it
3. A Addon even a cheap one might not sell, especially with current BD prices.

Just save it for the Xbox 720 or maybe do something proprietary, what ever.

Did you miss the part where I mentioned methods other than guns?

"...they don't have a knife they will simply use their hands"

Violence is just a part of humanity as sex is, you don't need to use violence to kill and you don't need to use sex to reproduce. (aka doing it for fun or what ever) I'm not saying either continent is right or wrong but that fact that only North America is "made fun" of for censoring certain things is a bit unfair.

Fake, that Microsoft Game Studios logo hasn't been used in ages!

Man has been using violence long before tools were invented to make it more efficient, if they don't have a knife they will simply use their hands. Same can be seen in the animal kingdom.

Violence built the foundation for almost all of the worlds societies, I don't think there is a single nation that didn't use some form of violence to get what they needed.

When has Major Nelson said Blu Ray was not needed (excluding the HD DVD format war for obvious reasons but even then I don't think he said anything), when did he say 1080p wasn't needed? Or even HDMI?

You guys do realize the author simply put PS3 in the title to gain hits, his actual quote has no mention of the PS3!

“I’ve been trying to rap my head about the whole 3D thing, and I still don’t really get the appeal in a home television,” he said on his podcast. ...

Why are so many Europeans uncomfortable with violence?

What good would that do if the games weren't selling in the first place asides from the Nintendo stuff?

The Wii has had plenty of great third party stuff but it simply hasn't been selling.

He says in theory they can't patch it but are able to make the job much harder. I think the PS3 does hold the record thus far although I haven't had much time to research it.

The Sega Dreamcast holds the record for shortest amount of time, out of the box. :(

To patch the exploit Sony or any company for that matter would need to know where it is. I'm sure they might already be looking for it just to be on the safe side.

I think they need Dark Alex more given how that guys work has unintentionally had a huge impact on software sales for the PSP.

That doesn't make any sense at all, how would Microsoft have known a solution to a problem would have happened within a appropriate time frame? If a majority of 360s were gone no one would buy software and that would give the competitors an edge.

Great, it only took the blood of who knows how many studios closed in the past year alone for them to entertain the idea...

6007d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

What good would a recall have done instead of the warranty when at the time you had no feasible solution? All you would be doing is giving everyone a new console that still had the RROD fault within it.
