Halo is technically back story to the Marathon series, Halo Wars did a pretty good job of explaining the Halo back series because you could also unlock interactive timelines and stuff.
So you get th following with the game
1. A new storyline
2. A explorable open world with tons of collectibles
3. Halo Reach beta key
4. 3 Exclusive multiplayer maps along with ALL Halo 3 Maps + DLC
5. Horde Mode
6. Modified graphics engine (not resolution of course)
To name a few and you claim it is only worth $20? I for one would happily pay $60 for it, at $40 it will become a must buy, at $20 it becomes a "why the hell do...
I find the story of the Halo series much more engaging then the Call of Duty stories. Not sure how COD keeps itself fresh, even 4 despite being in a new era still had a feel of classic WWII Call of Duty throughout it.
Although I will say, both stories (shooting terrorist Russians, aliens, etc) is pretty clichéd.
Horde mode makes for some fun times, especially when some guy tries to be a hero and gets killed for it.
Uwe get a bad rep, their are plenty of Hollywood directors out their who are far worse then him. Take for example the guy who made Doom....nuff said.
Mortal Kombat is probably the best transition so far and that came out over a decade ago!
Firefight is the icing on the Halo 3: ODST cake, I a super amped for this game! I for one and going to do my best to get it day 1.
Dashboard updates are free, if you've been buying your updates....
You probably haven't been using OS's for a while then, not every OS is perfect, so far it seems like Windows 7 is really going to make up for what Vista did.
Regarding the article, weren't these reasons ones IGN staffers wrote and not Microsoft?
The DLC for Halo 3 alone (which is included with ODST) would cost roughly $40. Factor in a new single player mode set in a open world, firefight mode, Halo Reach beta key, 3 exclusive multiplayer maps, etc and you got yourself a pretty justifiable pricetag.
But considering your comment history I doubt you would be buying the game at any pricepoint since you don't seem to own a 360.
Like I said below, the Chinese government will back ANY format that lowers licensing fees and was developed in China to a certain extent. There have been many cases, EVD, HVD, EVD HD, etc and all have failed. Infact, their are 2 or 3 formats currently fighting in this format war in China, all backed by the government.
Even then, if the government was doing anything to sway the format war, do you really think Blu Ray would even be allowed in the market to begin with?
ODST is a sandbox game so I assume this only applies to those who want to burn through it.
I'm a sucker for some of these retro games, I think i might get this eventually, the reviews have been pretty positive.
I agree, I personally look for a demo at every chance.
From what I've been told you have the option of either downloading the video to your console like you do now or streaming it.
That is definietly something I want to try out as well, my download speeds have improved significantly over the past few months so I'm eager to try out this streaming option. Although if you go digital, nothing ever beats a copy being played off your harddrive!
Awesome walk through, although I have to admit, it makes it harder to wait for the update! The Games on Demand, rating system, new save functionality, new HD options etc have me really excited.
CBHD is one of the many formats backed by the Chinese government, infact, the Chinese government will back ANY format that claims to lower licensing fees. The same happened with the DVD format wars, local formats tried to take DVD's market share in the region and failed, same with VCD's and such. CBHD so far is significant in that it is the most successful. :p
That being said, Blu Ray is in no way restricted in China, even HD DVD was being sold in some quantity at places like H...
Glenn and Lou Dobbs (he is still playing a racist right? Or did CNN change his storyline again?) would probably do something like that. =/
Places like Amazon usually sell titles for less, any word on how playlists will change in Halo 3 because of the addition of the 3 exclusive maps?
