A majority of those that you listed were also released on PC so they were never Xbox 360 exclusive to begin with.
Not exactly, companies like Acclaim Games have made millions from a free to play model. Those that don't want to buy content just sit through a ad during load screens.
I think the license will revert back to Warner so any future games they want to make in the series will probably have to be negotiated with Warner.
Halo 3 made a huge dent in the Xbox 360 sales, I remember that month they sold nearly a million units, enough to knock the Wii of it's streak. The next month sales dropped but were still pretty high, like you said probably attributed to Halo 3.
I think all 3 companies are fighting for that 100 million PS2 install base among others. I think it's pretty clear by now that the PS2 users Sony though would adopt the PS3 clearly won't unless they are given a good reason, a reason all ...
I was skeptical of Fat Princess at first, but it seem it turned out really well. Will have to get this when funds permit.
More and more people especially for these MMO's unable to sustain themselves with a small userbase need to adopt free to play models. Ads and premium items will ensure more profitability than a game like this has seen in a long time.
Since Free Realms is off to a great start for Sony, hopefully they will adopt that model instead of just killing the MMO off entirely.
The great thing about this service in my eyes is games you can't find on a disc anymore will hopefully be available on this service.
I find it funny how you tell Americans to get over Sex in media and then tell them how bad violence is. :p
In North America sex is censored, in Europe violence is, flaws are flaws and in both scenarios a developers vision can be hindered. Remember, violence just like sex can be used correctly in a story.
HDMI isn't needed or 1080p, it's only needed if you want better quality 1080p video, sound, etc.
The fact that they cut out a few characters classic to the series and other issues in the age of BlazBlue, SFIV, etc will make me skip this game, might pick it up at bargain price though.
So you are comparing Counterstrike, a modern some what realistic shooter to Halo, a futuristic shooter that takes liberties thanks to its storyline, nice!
Panda: The Half Life series has been released on multiple platforms with many spin offs, if you just look at the main series Half Life still has the platform advantage.
You do know in the movie theater you can go full screen so you don't need to see your avatars watching the movie, right?
Also, this update came out of nowhere, Microsoft already said they were ditching the yearly updates feature after NXE so the fact that we get a update on this scale and not something minor is cool.
You can install a browser on the Xbox 360 via Windows Media Center, it's legal as well. I'm sure there are guides about it on the internet.
Personally, I found the browser thing useless, I'd rather just search up on my PC instead of my browser. UNLESS the game specifically uses the browser to take you places like some of those Dreamcast games had done. Ex, a option in Call of Duty: World at War that takes you to the COD hub optimizes for a console browser and stuff.
Something similar had happened with Diablo 3 didn't? The difference is the Diablo site was actually a popular fan site putting the domain to use. These people are simply squatting the MW name, no fan club or anything.
Advertising works wonders guy ;)
Uncharted is a great game although I think the Ghostbusters brand has more recognition behind it. Atari or Namco (who ever is publishing it now, I lost track!) have a good date because it fits in with the Christmas rush period.
That being said, I'm sure both games will sell great in Europe.
Alien Breed is a retro game, probably before your time.
Plus, right after putting out the atrocious Larry they put out the super awesome Worms 2: Armageddon on XBLA.
Jaffe seems to tweet about his upcoming game on a almost weekly basis, just show us already!
"Microsoft, otherwise known as the poster boy for corporate greed and everything that is wrong with America. Not my words, the words of other people ... probably"
LOL! This guy has obviously never heard of companies like IBM, GM, Enron, etc! Microsoft has done a few shady things in the past but they have many redeeming qualities about them, just look at the huge amounts of cash they donate to various charities on a yearly basis.
The article itself is r...
Firstly, for many of these exclusives you talk about show us the proof that specifically states they went multiplatform or exclusive because Microsoft gave the publisher cash.
Secondly, it depends on what platform the game is in development for, a deal with Sony could jeopardize Bungie's relation with Microsoft drastically.
Third, Bungie is still owned by Microsoft in a sense, they are a LLC with one of the partners being Microsoft. Not sure how big or little of...
This guy fails to mention Braid was released on both PC and Mac this year....
