Makes me wonder if this is in anyway connected to the VGX. Might be a big feature announced at the event and this is to implement it. Not likely, but still possible I suppose.

Its good seeing the industry take an interest in education games. Its beneficial for everyone and might have Nintendo's ability to include great features to increase the learning output.
These sort of things should help bring the gaming industry to a better light with the mainstream media, though they probably wouldn't cover this information even if it was thrown at their faces. It doesn't have enough guns and violence for them to blame on the industry...

Can't we just agree that all of the fandoms have really stupidly biased members. I've seen some Sony fans that fit the stereotypical Nintendo fan qualities, and the same vice versa. There really isn't a distinct feature. It's just blind chauvinism

Forgive me, but I don't see whats wrong with it. 50 dollars is the typical price of new games. Nintendo is just letting you buy the sports seperately for incase you want one and not the other. Then the day pass for when you have a group of friends. It seems like a pretty good deal to me
I don't think its so much laziness as they just don't care for the online multiplayer right now. I personally much prefer it this way. To be able to have a good night with my friends, seeing there reactions and high fiving when we get past a difficult level will be great. They could have put online multiplayer in of coarse, but I believe the experience would lose much of its impact that way.
They actually do release new IPs occasionally, they are just typically overshadowed by the well known ones. Wonderful 101 and Pandora's tower to name afew. They also have X in development and whatever Miyamoto is working on.
They've also revived Pikmin, and though its not a new IP, its been 10 years since they release the second. making it new for many people.
As long as they do a good job on them, then yes. Windwaker as a remake was great. If they were to utilize the remakes in such a way as to stave our hunger until new games are released, then they wouldn't have to worry about the third party as much.
The ReUmagined rumor seems to put some, if not alot, of hope into this, but as a rumor it can't be taken without some salt.

Interesting thing about looking into the future, It typically is always drowned in personal preference and desire. I believe that it is far to early to make a sales call.

Well thats a good thing to do for a party game! Imagine if they released this at launch instead of Nintendo Land. Maybe things would be slightly different as there would be 80 games to show what the gamepad could do.

Its because Mario is red and they don't want the players mixing eachother up. As such, they went with blue because the red is taken by Mario, Green by Luigi, and yellow by Peach, her head color.
The funny thing is if they don't want to customize it they just have to make it off-TV Play like Super Mario Bros U. which probably isn't that difficult as it would just be sending the same signal to the Gamepad as the TV. Also Valve put a screen on their controller.
