I love PGR and Forza, but I also loved Dirt. Each of these have different aspects of racing highlighted. I expect GRID to focus on the intense, visceral, white-knuckle experience of racing automobiles. I could care less about drifting but the rest of the demo was pretty awesome, plus I am almost done with GTA.
My parents bought this for my sister so she could have something to play on the Genesis, but it was pretty hard and I ended up playing it and beating it, several times. The platforming was really awesome and the graphics spectacular. This game was second only to strider as far as Genesis favorites go, Sega should really re-release this for DS!
Do mainstream press feel bad for monsters in horror movies? Did anyone news people complain about those poor gremlins? or Dinosaurs? or freddy or jason?
I have both systems and play both regularly. I have a lower level/price 1080p LCD and I can definitely tell the difference between the PS3 and 360 on games like burnout. I know that the 360 is only upscaling an equal resolution but it certainly looks better on my TV.
Why the PS3 designers did not include a hardware upscaler is beyond me, especially when just about every upscaling DVD player sold has one, even the least expensive ones. Rendering games in native 1080p while maintai...
I never understood how the network could not see the connection between the fastest growing entertainment medium and ratings. If they wanted the 18-30 year old male demographic, just air great gaming programming, it is the dominant hobby among those males. How hard is that to understand?
Too many suits with no knowledge of gaming got their hands in the pie, hopefully clearer heads will prevail.
Who really cares? Does it really matter that Microsoft isn't reporting the percentage of copies sold per console, does that change the actual number of copies sold overall?
My wife is by no means a hard core gamer but she enjoyed the hell out of bully, all the ratchet and clank games and countless others. Why don't these guys pick women who are not so stereotypically female? My wife is a beautiful woman who also happens to love sci-fi, videogames, great music, art and tons of other stuff that I also happen to be passionate about.
When choosing a wife it pays to be patient and more than a little picky, lest you end up with this guy's wife who castra...
The stills look beautiful, the detail in the cell shading is very complex. I don't think we will know how it will really look until we see some real-time gameplay footage. It almost looks as if the backgrounds are realistic while the characters have that animated look to them.
That is some of the most brutal gameplay I have ever seen. I love that Alex actually breaks the helicopters rotors when he throws himself into them not the other way around.
The last three games were never shining examples of graphical performance, they were all about the gameplay and shear depth of experience. If that is your guide then I don't see how the offer of a substantial chunk of downloadable single-player gameplay wouldn't overshadow superior color and AA on the PS3. Also, I can remember multiple podcasts and articles stating that until recently the game had never even been shown on the PS3 because the production of the game was slower going, that the g...
How much more evidence do you need to expect this game will be incredible. Bethesda and Hines have the ultimate proof in oblivion, which for the amount of time I played it cost me less than 50 cents an hour. This is one game that I trust to be entertaining, much like GTA4, all one needs to do is look at prior work for the equity this game requires.
I see where both sides of this debate are coming from, the PC guys call the MAC users elitist tools who don't know a usb port from a hole in the ground and the MAC guys call the PC users elitist pricks who scoff at those without "leet" skillz on building and maintaining PCs.
Think about this, if I buy a car that is known for reliability and ease of ownership because I know I am not a good mechanic and don't like fixing cars does that make me a car "noob" or a...
How long will it be before the news media understands gaming?
Xbox live is a service not a game in and of itself. If you have a cd player and own multiple cds to listen to using that player you don't say, "I guess I will go listen to cd". What is so hard to understand about a console that plays whatever disc you have in it? Or a service that allows you to play many games against multiple players utilizing the internet?
Maybe they should stop watching so much Oprah and Dr. Phil and lighten up!
Ours is the first generation to grow up with sophisticated videogames. I am sure when all of our children are our age they will giggle at the fact that at one time certain people (snooty feminists, Fox News, etc.) thought that videogames were a juvenile and immature distraction instead of the dominant entertainment medium. They might even find it hard to believe gaming was ever discriminated against in suc...
It is so sad to see these armchair "developmental psychologists" trying to label things they don't understand. Kay seems to be mostly lamenting the fact that these "child-man" creatures have better things to do than endlessly pursue "legions of frustrated young women". It is insulting to the legions of men, like myself who have been married and are pursuing meaningful careers and families to label all gaming men "languishing underachievers".
I hope they don't pull some RE4 BS and lock the character in place while firing weapons to add to the "terror". I really like that the game looks to have a lot of clever environmental puzzle solving and relative isolation from other characters. I wish I knew more about the story. When is this game coming out?
Its like listening to parents in the 50's complaining about the "evil powers of rock n roll" and how Elvis shaking his hips might destabilize the moral fiber of the children. I hope someone is archiving all of these reactionary/ill-informed "news" pieces so that when I have kids we can all watch them and die laughing!
